How To Replace Cabin Air Filter - 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 (2009-2018) DIY

In this video we will cover the steps on how to replace the cabin air filter in a 2009-2018 Ram 1500. We are using a Purolator C25858 cabin air filter. The procedure on the 2017 Ram 1500 in this video is the same for all fourth generation (2009-2018) Ram Trucks. This is a DIY maintenance tip that anyone can tackle. No tools are involved.

Okay for anyone who has been experiencing a musty damp type smell you cannot get rid of with air fresheners, try replacing the cabin filter. I used the $27 Bosch with Febreeze effect and what a magnificent difference. I bought my 1500 used from a dealer and they never changed the cabin air filter. Instead they put in 5 air freshener wafers under the seats that smelled like a Guido from NYC...lol.

I just changed mine today and I was surprised at how dirty it was. I changed it at 12,000 miles and today I changed it at 44,000 miles. Definitely needed it. In addition, who the heck gives the dealer permission to go through your glove box and take everything out to do it without your permission? Some people keep their personal stuff in their glove boxes....checkbooks, guns, condoms, who knows what. And they think it's alright just to go through it without asking. That's BS

Great instructions, does this improve the air conditioning etc? Does it blow cooler? I'm going to check mine tomorrow, I have a 2017 3.6L V6 Ram with 17k miles, and the A/C has been blowing less cold lately. I noticed my engine bay is really dirty with dust everywhere so I'm assuming the cabin filter must be FILTHY! It's really dusty and hot here in Arizona.

Thanks! Not so much cooler, but it filters any dust particulates and things out. They should be changed 1-2 times a year. I would envision that if it were clogged you might get less air volume through.
