Thanks, this was very helpful...I have successfully put the filter in on my own. This didn't help with my poor heat like I thought, should I replace the filter in the box as well?

The cabin air filter helps with air flow coming through the cabin in your vehicle so it is the one that you want to change if the heat and defrost is not working properly. Then engine air filter helps with the cars performance. If the heat is not working like it used to then it may be worth taking it into a shop and having it looked at.

Did this vehicle have a factory cabin air filter? You showed every second of the screw removal but didn't show the original cabin air filter. You skipped over that part.

No this filter or instillation will on work for the 2002 model. The 02 model may not have the cabin air filter option.
