Been a marine/small engine and millwright for over 30 years one of the best small engine videos I have watched. Very good job!

Great great video. I’ve replaced carburetor fuel line fuel filter primer and put a new spark plug-in. Still not starting. Sounds like it has great compression. What’s my next step? What do you recommend?
@christophercorbett73073 ай бұрын
@MrStuk2112 sorry I just saw this. I assume you verified spark. One thing that happens often is it will be flooded from the previous carburetor. If you remove plug, dry it off, reinstall the plug, crank on it one or two times with choke off, if it's really wet it's flooded. Best way to unflood it....remove or just loosen nuts for carb so you can slide it back. It'll get full air this way. It'll crank and scream for 1-2 seconds.

This is a great video. The pouring out of gas and replacing with fresh fuel was perfect advice. I did pick up a new carb etc… on Amazon for around $20 just in case and will just save it. Great step by step video!

Very good job. Saved me from taking it to the shop. I’m going to buy some gas in the can tomorrow! Haha. Just a note…you can take the choke linkage loose if you twist silver choke up. It matches and will slip out. I did use needle nose for a light push, but works! Check it.

Thanks for a nice video. I was trying to figure out how to disconnect the throttle linkage without breaking it. I was on the right track but I wanted to see how someone else removed the link.

If you rotate the choke lever on the carb by hand you can take the linkage off without removing the wires and plastic choke lever.Just a tip.Not trying to be a know ot all.

Thank you, I always appreciate and take free teaching!!
@jjcc21922 ай бұрын
You do not have to remove the black plastic piece. Just rotate choke plate towards you and the link can slide right out. Also there is a slot for the kill wire almost directly behind the choke lever. Snap it in or it can wiggle loose from its mounting position.

I’m fixing up a 025 and it didn’t have one of those seasonal shutter slides installed. Are they absolutely necessary or should I play it safe and head to my local dealer to pick one up? The average temperature in my area is between 60°F and 100°F

Should I replace the gasket as well?
@christophercorbett73078 ай бұрын
If you are referring to the gasket between the intake and the carburetor, no. The carburetor is being bolted against a rubber intake. The paper gaskets they send are unnecessary and potentially problematic

The dealer I bought mine from says on that air filter, don’t pry the tabs up as they have a tendency to break. He says to pull the top towards you or away from you, and it’ll come right off.
