I feel like you're kind of unfairly criticizing the resin straps, they're highly cost-efficient, longer lasting than most leather straps. Plus they totally fit the Gshock design ethos of practicality/functionality. Luckily we have the ability to customize our watches to our personal preferences ;)

I own a G-shock gulfman since about six years years , I wear it a little loose so there is minor tension and it's not that uncomfortable .

Totally agree- I do change my straps up for aesthetics (NATO) but have found them perfectly okay to wear and still have one on one of my Gs

I agree. He's being very critical when it looks like it's never been worn. I've worn mine for 4 years rarely ever take it off or notice I'm even wearing it. Only reason I'm replacing mine is the bad that holds the strap together came apart.

The screws are not for show. They hold the bezel/casing. Need to undo them to change bezel.

I fold the end of the nato strap to the inside rather than the outside. It's far neater that way.

You could use a 25mm strap and merely fold in the portion that passes beneath the watch through the spring bars if you wanted. I've jury rigged a watch with a broken strap that way before.

Why would anyone want to go to this trouble to change the strap, drilling holes etc. I appreciate that you are improvising because the strap was incorrect. "as simple as that" it wasn't!

Great video mate. I agree 100% with you about the straps. I've been buying Casio's for over 30 years { usually the F-91W } and the strap on average lasts only 2 years. I just buy a new watch and I'm sure Casio know that the majority of people do this. I'm not complaing, especially on the £9.99 F-91W ,but I don't want to spend £100 on the DW5610U for the strap to go after only 2 years. I think if Casio made it with 22mm width people would buy less watches as the strap would last so much longer. Good video!

G shock resin straps are thicker and significantly more durable than the f91w. I measured the f91w resin strap to be 3mm and the GWB5600BL-1 strap at 4mm. 1mm, or 33% thicker. It is worth noting the GWB5600BL-1 band is much wider(20mm vs 16mm), and doesn't connect to the watch head the same way the f91w does. These reasons are why you don't see as many mentions of dead straps in g shock reviews.

The resin straps of-gshock is best in class and the watch is absolutely uncomfortable with any other strap, because of the design. It's much better to get another original Casio strap of another color or form if you don't like the original. Personally I tried this Chinese made garbage strap and immediately throw it in the trash bin.

Umm don't agree, the gshock straps are quite cheap and uncomfortable and make u sweat tbh, for expensive watches they really don't put much into there straps

Not sure why you had ro drill holes, i bought the same strap (decent quality imo) off Amazon with the matching lugs which will fit that watch. I like a NATO but I know what you mean. I don't cut it but I unstitch and take two of the mental loops which for me are superfluous. Disagree about the 'lugs' - they bulk the watch up which i prefer.

The screws are not for show, they actually hold the bezel case in place... but yes, you do not have to remove them when you remove or change the straps... I bought a set of strap with adapters and spring bars online and the adapters have some line designs on it that complements the piece. Good job on the video and thanks for sharing.

With regular strap when single springbar breaks you lose the watch, with nato strap both springbars need to break in order to lose the watch. However nato strap is annoying when used together with seethrough caseback.
