Thank you for the video. Just seeing the pics and back inside was worth it.

the inlet and outlet hoses are different diameters because of physics: the bigger one (3/4") is for the hot coolant to go into the core, the smaller (5/8") one is for the cooler, less expanded coolant to return to the block or wherever it goes...maintains pressure in the system. so, you need the 2 different hose sizes, 3/4" and 5/8" and appropriate T's...and you CAN buy reducing T's at plumbing/hardware stores...

Thanks for this video i had to replace the quick connect line on my van and the tee decided to crumble into peices so i had to replace that and as well. All my lines were stuck on the fire wall so i just cut and spliced into them with new line. Doesnt look pretty but it works and im back on the road! I had to replace the thermostat and waterpump as well because i didnt know which one failed causing it to overheat in the first place turned out it was the thermostat but the waterpump was leaking anyways so i replaced it. It took me 3 days to put it all back together but your videos helped a bunch thanks.

Glad I found this. Mine had been repaired before with regular t fittings. I need to try and get a better view to what was done so I can fix it Right. One of the plastic t's broke when I got stuck on some ice

Very helpful, thanks. I bought the inlet triple hose/T, then it occurred to me that the Ts are present only to accommodate the auxiliary heater, something not all Ventures came with. Seems that it should be possible to ignore the aux. heater and just go straight to the main heater core with inlet and outlet hoses. If so, this would require only two hoses and no Ts. Should probably cap or plug inlet and outlet tubes to aux. heater core but not really necessary. Could be wrong, just a possibility worth exploring in a pinch.

Do you think when a mechanic tilted the motor forward in a 2001 Chevy venture to get to rear plugs that hose could of sprung a leak ?

Can you let us know where you got the 30 dollar hose? And maybe a part number if you still have it?

Like to see how you got all that off the vehicle. Such a tight space did you drop the motor just a bit to make room?

Hi. Thanks for the informative video. So were you able to push the 5/8 hose onto that larger tube on the firewall? The one with the 2 clamps?

can you draw a hose diagram for which hose is in and out of all 4 pipes coming from the firewall?

Daniel, excellent video! I need to replace the same things on my wife's 2000 Chevy Venture, which burst this morning, spewing AF all over the hot exhaust. Who did you order the 3-way 90-degree tees from? My locals all have flat tees. And who did you order that one quick connect hose from? I know the dealership will charge a small fortune for both assemblies, so, like you, I will rebuild them myself. Just wondered where you ordered the tees and quick connect hose from. Many thanks and way to go! Paul.

Can't recall, but I usually look up the OEM number then check Amazon, followed by EBay for hard to find items.

Daniel, at min. 4:08 or so, you noticed that indeed the two heater outlet pipes appear to be different diameters -- and you worried that "potentially" could present a problem as you used 5/8" id heater hoses.... Yet by the end of the video, you never came back to that key question.... alas, you noted it was yet another awful GM nightmare . (though we couldn't see what you were doing). Did you somehow manage to get a 5/8 hose over that lower inlet? (without breaking it) Happens I have a 2000 Montana, and I followed your mockup to "a T" (even found the T's for $8 at one of my local AAP locations)..... But wow, I'm frustrated now in no being able to get the one hose on the lower heater inlet. Do you remember how you handled this?
@hugh3rdof54 жыл бұрын
ps, confirming the problem..... by checking the exact GM oem heater core used in our Venture/Motana etc.... that lower pipe inlet is .75 (3/4) inch in outer diameter.... (the upper pipe is 5/8) .... So again Daniel, how'd you get a 5/8" id hose over a 3/4 od inch fitting? (or did you have a solution you forgot to mention?)
@hugh3rdof54 жыл бұрын
Appears to be an available solution -- a short heater hose that goes from 5/8 id (at where it connects to the T) to a 3/4 id at the heater core. (My Autozone actually has them for about $6 -- RockAuto even less.) See: www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=960819&cc=1359356&jsn=22 (Comments, Daniel? )

What is the t thing called? Im trying to replace mine and no one knows what its called
@pauler-to1qm7 жыл бұрын
Hi Val. I just replaced the TEE on my wife's Venture. GMPartsOnline calls one TEE a "TEE, AUX HTR INLET" and the other TEE is a "TEE, AUX HTR OUTLET". These tees, together, help push/pull the hot coolant to/from both the primary heater core (warming the front passenger area) and the auxiliary heater core (warming middle and rear passenger areas). Unfortunately, none of my regular auto parts shops listed the part to order for me. GMPartsOnline was not the best help, so in the end I searched on eBay and bought two TEES (GM Part #10436543) from a parts distributor FINDLAYAUTOPARTS.COM for $17.70 total. I had them in about 4 days and I fixed everything that weekend in about 3 hours. Paul

WD40 ruins rubber hoses and plastic connectors. In my opinion, video maker should pay restitution.
