Awesome video! You made this look super easy. How many miles on your Evo for the pulley to look so bad. Mine has only about 48,000 miles. I’m kind of considering the fluidampr one but it’s very expensive. I was just reading the fluidampr one helps quiet engine vibration better than OEM. I just read horror stories about getting the bolt out of that pulley and I also do not have any impact tools.

Thank you! It had 64k I’m surprised it went out this early. That bolt is definitely difficult without an impact tool, you need a breaker bar and another tool to hold the crankshaft pulley in place, but with an impact it only takes about 5 seconds to remove lol

Something I just noticed is you had your oil pan off, did your woodruff key fall off into the oil pan?

No my key didn’t move, I had the oil pan off because I had an oil pan leak, I did a video on that too

Oh gotcha, I had an oil pan leak also. I had the worse time getting it off until I bought a gasket cutter then it was a piece of cake. I’m about to install a new pulley, belt, and gasket. I thought maybe it was the key that fell in because I watched a different video where the guy had his woodruff call fall into the oil pan, and I hope I don’t have that happen.

@@koolzero007 yea removing the gasket is annoying lol I doubt it, the key doesn’t fall easily, but I just wanted to include that information for the viewers just in case

I cannot get the pulley bolt loosened. I bought a tool to hold the pulley still and it keeps it front rotating and I’m using a breaker bar but I cannot get it to budge. Is it safe to spray some penetrating fluid on the bolt (seafoam)? Yay, I finally got it. Fortunately I bought two of the pulley holder tools, one kept bending. But I got enough leverage on it with a ratchet and a pipe over it and put my foot up against the chassis to get enough oomph on it. It just felt like it didn’t want to loosen up at all.

@@koolzero007 yes you can spray penetrating oil, I like PB Blaster or liquid wrench, the best way is to buy an impact though, worth the investment since you will be using it a lot

What socket size did you use? Would it be the same one for a 09 lancer gts 2.4??

For which part? The crankshaft pulley bolt? A 32mm and I believe it should be the same for the 2.4L

@@JohnnyGT yes the crankshaft pulley, thanks I have a 22 mm and it was slightly smaller, almost bought 23 mm will grab the 32 mm socket. Thanks bruh!!!
