You must bled the air out before starting the engine otherwise you risk running the fuel pump dry which will wreck it, unless you have a vacuum bleeder don’t try especially not on a series 2 or newer because the fuel pump is cam chain driven so to replace it is an engine out transmission off job, 6K plus.

Should specify what year or engine code. My 2012 Q7 TDI has totally different filter (inline filter!!!!). I assume the video shows and old Q7 3.0 TDI.

I tried this now i get low fuel pressure warning and flashing glow plug. Clearly need to prime in vcds or something??

Low fuel pressure common problem 1,Confirm the code with an OBD-II scanner, and reset the diagnostic code. 2,Replace the fuel filter or screen (most common) 3,Replace damaged or kinked fuel lines. 4,Replace faulty fuel pressure sensor. 5, Replace the fuel pump. 6 test and replace fuel injector 7 , test and replace high pressure fuel pump
