Considering the need to plug-and-play a used NAG1 TCM like the one shown: TCMs on these cars (if equipped) will plug in and allow the vehicle to start and drive upon installation into any year '05, '06, '07-14, though it doesn't mean it will work. The gear ratio of the rear axle/differential is flashed to the TCM at the factory, this MUST match yours. The "xxxxxxxxAG" Part number tells you nothing about this, however you should be matching to "EGS52" or "EGS53". Should you attempt to use the TCM from the donor vehicle and the final drive be different than yours, you will be greeted with at least a P0700/P0733 after transmission enters into limp mode upon 20 mph -- you will then have to program/flash your used TCM. Same goes for a diff swap to different gears on your working factory TCM. Best to VIN match the donor car with yours to check the final drive ratios of both vehicles. Also, from a TCM's point of view, changing of the TCM is like changing or rebuilding of the transmission itself. Clearing of adaptives, followed by quick-learn procedure should be performed to prevent damage to the transmission, especially if the donor TCM has adapted to a worn transmission in the donor vehicle.

There are 2 plugs on the TCM. The upper one with only 2 wires , it is able to loose connection while plugged in. I doubled up to 18" zip ties and ran it around the unit and behind the plug and then pulled it tight. its a solid feeling connection now. Reset codes and shifting normal for me, and not stalling out. 2006 dodge charger 133k 3.5l

I hve. 09 Charger SXT that does this...car is running in 2nd gear. I ssit hex out the transmission thinkn that was the problem...all alone...its the TCM. Theyres a new Speed sensor on the tranny now. Car runs great now. Nice job young man

Thanks for the video! Replacing the TCM alone doesn't typically solve the problem tho. the tcm can cause the limp mode sometimes, but what I found was that it was actually filthy TPMS sensors! Have them cleaned the next time you get your tires rotated and you'll find much of the problem goes away. Other causes are the oil pressure sensor going bad, as well as a wiring issue (I had a MOPAR specialist shop on long island deal with that, they found that my dealership had tried a wiring fix to the oil pressure sensor that was not very good, causing the loss of communication code, so they fixed it and it fixed the rest of my limp mode issues for over a year). Also, a dirty throttle control module (inside the throttle body) can cause the limp mode, so i am replacing the throttle body and will let you know if that fixes the last bit (my car goes limp maybe once every couple months or so). Lastly, a defect in the fuel tank also causes limp mode, there's an existing recall and the dealership will fix it for free, but that stalling was different (car totally shut down as if it was choking/drowning when fuel tank was full, as opposed to the limp mode your experiencing as if the car stubbed its toe or tripped on the ground...).

Just go on eBay and look up a NAG1 Valve Body conductor plate with speed sensors. Very common problem with those transmissions. Price is between $130-160 for a new one and pull the pan and valve body and replace that conductor plate and sensors and filter and refill with the correct fluid.... Hope this helps someone else out..

Mine would do that it read a 0700 code I had to stop fueling it with 87 regular n start using 93 when I first brought my charger they told me to fill it up once a month with 93 I haven’t had any problems since but I have 06 r/t 5.7

Brian Thompson I replaced my throttle control on my 2006 Dodge charger please car also and it makes it runs great it's awesome for about a week and then it goes right back to the same problems after the computer lines what's going on I've read a lot of forums where mechanics mechanics to actually work on the 300 and the charger please cars say that there is a pan that's about in the factory ECM's and the ECM from the dealer are no good also by getting an aftermarket rebuilt one and getting it re-flashed that should help the problem also

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger RT that I bought new and has 122K. My car has died from time to time but it always restarted so I was just thinking, bad gas. However lately I've noticed it's going into limp mode. I pulled the battery on the car and let everything reset. I went to a friend's and he scoped it and found codes P0700, P2767, and P0128. Two of them reference the TCM and the last one says Coolant Thermostat malfunction. But after reading some of the posts on here it seems it could be other things.

If you go with a new one, yes you have to have it flashed to your car. You could possibly, find a used one from a car with the exact same setup, gear ratio etc.

My 06 r/t runs fine but had some interior electrical problems and the dealership said they have to replace the tipm, bcm, and the fcm a total of 1900$ in repairs and it runs great with no issues so idk how 3 computers could be bad with only a check engine light on.

Bcm is the body control module it is responsible for a lot of the interior electronics the fcm is the front control module it's aka the ecm controls basically all your electrical for the engine as well as the headlights and other lighting and the tipm is the total integrated power module. That is the box in the trunk next to the battery with all the fuses on it.

DESHUN EVANS I had a problem with my car cutting off while driving also, and I had to change two sensors, one was the oil pressure sensor and the other was a crank shaft sensor on a 06 300c 5.7, they're basically the same as the charger, and it's been running fine every since, I forget what codes they were, but there are videos showing how Chrysler and Dodge can read their own codes by flipping the switch from acc to just on three times real fast and just wait for the codes to show up if you did it correctly, hope this help

Victor Benitez when my car was at the dealership they actually change the key fob on them because they couldn't figure it out either trust me I put throttle body TCM crankshaft EGR I put all kinds of stuff then the dealership put the rest of the stuff harness and I know they did did the key fob and stuff switch and after I picked it up it was still turning off on me even worse as soon as I switch the coils the car's been running so far so good

Just some more input on this issue. I had the stalling issue (sometimes at speed, and sometimes at a stop) and it stores P0700. It would happen every few months, for a day. Then it would run fine for another few months. I’m related, my battery died and since the battery replacement.. I haven’t had the issue again.

Man these hemis are real polished turds. That one changed coils,that one replaced the pcm,others had sucses with new sparkplugs... my 2006 300c hemi stalls and starts bucking when i floor it, like the ignition is switched off and on real fast while i floor it. I got a new flashed pcm from Solo auto, new egr valve,throttle body,evap canister and solenoid valve, sparkplugs,camshaftsensor, crankshaftsensor, map sensor, airmass flow sensor and its still doing the same. The slogan:mopar or no car is a fucking joke. Got a week off now and want to check some vacuum lines,especialy the one from the breakbooster to the intake manifold. I saw that the idle should change if you choke that airline with plyers,but mine stays the same if i do that. Tomorrow im gonna take the intake manifold off. If it doesnt get better soon,im gonna kick it out and get a chevy back.

i replaced the fuel tank and i still have the problem....car shuts off at random....especially while sitting still..... so now i am about to order a aftermarket pcm and see if that works because everyone is saying don't buy the factory one....go buy a aftermarket one.....

The problem you are having is in the valve body of the transmission its self. Been there done that.. Both the wheel speed sensors and the Valve Body speed sensors have to see a similar number or else it will limp out. It's obviously not getting that matching pulse from the sensors would be my guess.. I will say that the old original 2005-2008 Valve Body conductor plate speed sensors are just a disaster waiting to happen for everyone anyway, it's not an if thing its a when thing... Hanging them off the main plate using nothing but the copper conductor lines was never a good idea and in 09 they were revised. Its been discussed more than once on the charger forms..

O forgot to say I got a charger to 5.7 dealership sent my car from the engine guy to the transmission guy to the electrician in they still was lost they wanted 1600 to try the ecm no way they was guessing ima try it myself for like 3 or 4 hundred already programmed

Did you ever figure this out and did you change the front control module (fcm)? It's the gateway controller for ALL the other modules in the car including PCM, TCM, CAN B and CAN C. Basically you need to be absolutely sure this module is good before you can determine if the other modules are good. The FCM can fail in ways that make it impossible for even a Startool to pull codes because of the can b and can c intersections within the front control module. As well I've seen it work when cold but fail once module warms to the touch. Cool off module everything works again. Good luck.

Thx for the update. Hopefully my reply helps someone else. I had the same issue with a 2007 300c. I ended up going to salvage yard and pulling same part from a 2006 Magnum 5.7L for $25. I was also unable to communicate with the PCM with a scanner through the obdll port, which led me to finding the bad FCM. But I had the exact same starting symptoms. Start for 2 seconds then die. It would do it all day until I changed that part. Just thought I would share that in case it helps someone else with a Dodge product. Thx for putting this out to help others having similar issues.

Please help! Our local dealer has had my moms car for almost 3 weeks! They replaced the throttle bottle valve twice stating that’s what is wrong! Today it is still not working! Has anyone had or heard of this problem? It has about 33k and is a 2013. Msg says service transmission, continue in D, do not shift to P,R,N or turn engine off until reaching dealership. She did all of the above and nothing happened

I changed everything you did and the ecm to. still shutting off on me after couple of minutes. Changed crank sensor and cam shaft sensor and throttle body new battery. New ecm new sensor for air intake. Still doing it. It's driving me nuts!!!! It's been parked since December 2018.

Mine is doing the same thing.. the original dealer said it was probably the ignition switch, replaced it, didn't fix the issue... So I'm taking it to the dodge dealer on Monday but my guess (after reading through a bunch of forums) is that the PCM unit under the hood needs to be replaced...

Swapped the PCM to stop the stalling. Super easy job! Took about 20 min and I think it was like $350 for the part from store.allcomputerresources.com After that I still had some shifting issues so I bought a Hemmituner TCM from highhorsepower.com (another easy job, took about 30 min) HOWEVER... with the TCM you need to either give them all of your specs to customize it or have a tuner (like diablo predator or trinity)

Randall B was you car sputtering when it was down shifting and then turning off when it came to a stop? when mine tuned off, all my lights came on, the oil light came on, the electric light came on. and the car shuts off. when I ran the computer the codes that came up were for the transmission, P0700 and U0100...
