Amazing video, I just bought a load of parts online to service the car. I checked my pads before hand and do you see the large rubber boot that is connected to the brake system in the video? not the two little ones that are for the guide pins but the really big one to the left in your video, I noticed that it was torn when I looked at my brake pads, what is that called and is it easy to fix myself? keep up the great work

That boot you're referring to is the CV Boot. If it is torn, that means that the grease that would normally be in there has probably all leaked out, and it also means that dirt and debris has probably gotten into the CV Joint which will wear it out prematurely. If you hear a clicking or thumping noise when turning (usually a tight radius turn), then the joint has gone bad and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I usually just replace the entire Axle shaft at once which has both inner and outer CV Joints. It's not a really hard job, but will take you some time. I have a few videos showing how to replace the CV or Axle shaft on different vehicles, but there's probably some more on here for your specific vehicle as well. Thanks for watching! Can you use a presure system to bleed a master cylinder. The master cylinder was ran dry from brake line failure.

Hi Emily, Usually that will work to get the lines cleared and get it to start building pressure in the master cylinder and at the brake pedal. If you can't get any pressure building at the pedal after trying that, you may need to take it out and bench bleed it or even replace it. I have seen many master cylinders go bad after losing all the fluid which causes the pedal to go all the way to the floor because of the debris that builds up on either side of the piston seals. I have been able to do it though, it's worth a try... I have also had success with the 'gravity bleed' method as well. Best of luck to you, I hope you get it sorted out. @@DantheFixitMan Turn out I can't afford a presure cap system. I'm gonna have to try the cheapest way. I ask a question on a couple videos of yours. My brother used to fix everything for me. He past away last Christmas. I want to try and bleed the master cylinder on the car first With loosening the lines, close line then bleed the 4 wheels.

@@emilycummings7540 so sorry for your loss. You can try the gravity bleed method of opening all the bleeder screws and keep the master cylinder reservoir full of brake fluid until the lines are all flowing clean fluid. Then close all the bleeder screws to see if you can build pressure at the pedal. You may need to try it a few times, and then try the traditional method using a helper to pump the pedal and hold while you open each bleeder screw one at a time. Best of luck to you.

has this rubber cap lasted a while? just want to make sure it won't explode, as the specs on it say only 4.3 psi or something super low (home depot brand). thanks!

Yes, it’s still working well. I did have it pop off once because I didn’t clamp it on tight, but it’s held up fine. Thanks for watching
