Best brake change instruction video ever made! 👏👏👏 Very thorough, no fluff, great explanations of the reason for each step, perfect!... I'm very comfortable changing brakes and didn't need to watch this but couldn't help but keep watching.

A solid, clean video that explained everything for a first-timer's success. These $89 brakes "Autospecialty KOE3053 1-Click OE Replacement Brake Kit" plus a few other mentioned supplies from the local auto store is a total of ~$130. Contrast that with a local mechanic and a dealer who both quoted ~$600 for the job. Tips: - Invest in a quality lift jack and stands, not the dangerous and unstable one in your trunk. - C-clamp vise grips will effectively squeeze the caliper piston. - Use two bolts that you can screw into the existing wheel bearing holes that are specifically designated to pop off the old rotor in less than a minute. No hammering or wheel pull tool is needed.

Just found out after an hour of frustration, and calling every parts dealer in town, the retaining bolts on the calipers also compress. I thought my pads were too thick, and everyone said that I needed to compress the piston more.

Can the brake system be damaged during the piston retraction if the bleed valve isn't opened first? Is there any check valves in the ABS that might be damaged with fluid going against the grain?

I just wish they were back on the pads permanently like they used to be. But I just did my car and didn't realize they were going to be separate and I ended up putting them both back on the bottom It doesn't look like it matters but hopefully it doesn't.

Nice job but I would never push brake fluid back up into the system. It’s simple to just break open the bleed screw.

Yeah. Except it’s completely fine. The system is sealed. Anything in the system is already in the system. The piston being seated again isn’t introducing anything foreign to the hydraulics.

Never squeeze the piston back using that tool. Use a caliper tool or put the old pad back in and use a C clamp. Also went a little too far with the grease, no need to coat the outer pad and caliper piston.
