This video shows you how to install a new quality TRQ lower control arm with ball joint in your 2014-2021 Mazda 6. Control arms are a crucial part of the suspension system of your vehicle. They not only carry the load of the vehicle to the wheel, but they typically also maintain its alignment. Control arms are typically large and strong, so you may be surprised it needs replacing. They contain rubber bushings for smoother rides at the cost of eventual wear, or integrated ball joints that require replacing the entire arm when they wear.
This repair was done on a 2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring 2.5L Sedan 4-Door FWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Just wanna thank you for this video. Im no mechanic but figured it cant be that hard. Your video was spot on. First one took a bit of time but did second side in about an hour start to finish. Toughest part was getting the new one to go into its place, for some reason mine was much harder to get in. but a second jack to help lift it at random spots did the trick, all the rest was smooth sailing. Thanks again for your videos showing all socket sizes and torque settings. Now I have a bunch of new tools and still cost me half of what dealer quoted me so win win!

I can't believe my wife and I paid the dealer over $1200 to do this 😤 all she needed was a new ball joint to fix the squeaking turkey noise but those clowns got us to replace the whole control arm. Looks like we could have gotten away with a much cheaper job since this wasn't nearly as complex as it seemed. In the future if needed, I'll be doing this myself. Thanks for putting these videos out there.

Removing the ball joint can be a pain, the new control arm comes with all new bushings and a new ball joint... Might as well spend the $180 on the new part but yeah it’s crazy expensive vs doing it yourself.

Is it me, or is the tire mounted the wrong way? 10:59 it is indeed outside, but shouldn't the rotation mark be facing the other way?

I don't see what removing the axle nut did for you. Seems like a useless extra step.

I think because he said the bolt needed to be tightened at ride height… without removing the axel nut you wouldn’t be able to have the control arm sitting at the ride height without hitting the CV axel. 🤷‍♂️

Just got the left and right replaced and my car is now making a metal to metal grinding high pitch noise when accelerating. Wondering if you have any ideas of what it could be? I gotta take back to the mechanic to see but was wondering have you experienced this problem after replacing lower control arms on the Mazda 6???

I dont know if you found it yet but it can be the dust shield around your brakes. This gets bent very easily and can rub on your rotor making noise and always sounding much worse than it is.

One mistake. The screws must be tightened when the vehicle is suspended. Otherwise the components will be under pressure after the vehicle has been lowered.
