Watched this a few times now. My new roller bearings should be here on Monday for my Austin Mini 1275E. This video has been amazing, thank you very much for it

Sweet moke. Would love to have one. May want to look into building your own cheap bearing press as hammering will get the job done but definitely risks getting the bearing slightly crooked or not getting it complete set leading to premature bearing failure

Great video! I'm having difficulty removing the drive flanges as I'm trying to remove and replace the backplate. I've taped it on all sides and it doesn't want to budge. Any suggestions? Edit: Finally got the drive flanges off with the use of a slide hammer. Unfortunately, the bearings came apart so I guess I now have to completely remove the hubs so I can knock out the bearing race and dust shield. Am I missing anything?

And just FYI you can swap a drum brake car to the tapered roller bearings from a disc brake car. The bearings are identical dimensions 😀

Need to change the CV boot on my 1975 Mini 850. Just wondering if I need to remove the brake line or once removing the ball joints if i can just put the assembly out the way while I work on the driveshaft? And any tips you might recommend. I had a garage replace them last year but one has split again so I want to try and do it myself. Thanks :)

I assume you figured this out a while ago, but just hanging the assembly out of the way is all you need to do.

i see you slide a bar in so u can undo and tighten hub nut, any danger of bending the studs?

No it’s really unlikely. Those studs are hardened steel. If you can bend those when loosening the wheel it was probably time to replace them anyways lol.
