Watched this video and the steps more or less matched my chilton manual and what I visually saw on my Yukon XL 2500, so I followed along and gave it a go! I'm not a mechanic and it took me some hours of hammering/torching/cutting when the balljoint was stuck in the knuckle, but I got the job done on both sides and my truck feels a million times better after an alignment.

I dont see the need in beating that torsion bar out of place. Cant you just pull the lower control arm off it once you drop it?

Do you not need to grease any of those points? Like the pivot "sleeves", bolts or even a littleon the ball joint cone?

Mine is 2004 2wd 1500 Avalanche with torsion bar, For changing the lower bj's do I need to take out the torsion key out the way you did it? or to relive tension just place a jack under the lower ca. Thx for great video!

I did it without the torsion key tool. I also had the whole front end apart, so it made things easier too.

Hey you guy's !! Be Carefull about the torsion bar. "Torsion" it can be dangerous.... That bar is twisted as its tightened into place. It's not much of a twist mind you! You can't tell simply looking at it. But break some thing loose Without releasing the torsion? Back portion locking- mec. Anyway/nut. I actually seen one of those things break and it sounded like a cannon going off
