New Brake Pad & Rotor Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1ABF...
Brake pads wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake rotors may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace pads and rotors at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes. This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ brake pads and rotors on your 2000-06 GMC Yukon.

Thanks for the assist, but as Dad used to say, "Just the same, only different." Found that I needed a 3/8 inch Allen type caliper socket instead of a T-55 and the first pads that I purchased from AutoZone had ears on them like yours and didn't fit. Was told that they do have a Severe Duty pad set for about twice the price ($65) that they could order. Went down the street to O'Reilly and they had the pads I needed in stock for $35. Discovered that if the vehicle has rear drum brakes, it has a different style of pad. After that (and using a piston compression tool that I borrowed from my brother) it went smoothly. Just wanted to give others a heads-up that they might run into these problems.

The T55 thing pissed me off so badly. I have torx and star crap bits and none of them fit. I bought a set of star bits thinking one would fit and guess what? T50 was the biggest one they had. GM HATES it's customers. there is no reason to put that POS but there. Just used a 3/8 nut. Why do they do this to us?

I see the star bolts for the calipers. Is there a way to replace them with 1/2 or 9/16 (or similar) so I don't have to use that star tool to get them off?

Some brands both pads only have one warning pin. Make sure on those you have the inside one facing down and look outside one facing up

Note : I Only Had to Pull Off the Caliper... ( using a T-55 Socket Torx ). Then , Pried out the Disc Pads, Re- Loaded the New Pads, then Replaced the Caliper, after Compressing the Piston Cups... There was No Need to Remove the 18mm Bolts, To Remove the Caliper Brackets. ( Just the Caliper Off/ On and Your Done. Make Sure to Pump Your Brake Pedal, and Verify that the Master Cylinder is Full, When You are All Finished. You're Welcome, BillinL.A. 12-05-2021.

Would it have been a good ideal to replace or at least grease the caliper pistons? To avoid uneven wear on pads? I think brakes need to be air bleed out, did not see that part.

I use the sockets you said and the lug nuts were not 18 mm they were 7/8's.. I thought you knew what you were doing. I guess the joke was on me. Maybe you should find another line of work.
