Thank you for this tutorial. Was nervous about attempting this, but you made it easy to follow. My laptop from 2015 now runs like it’s brand new.

Thanks for the video. HP make doing this 1000% harder than it should be! Never would have guessed I needed to remove the keyboard to change out the hard drive.

Thank you!! it made it soooo much better. Upgrading from a 5400rpm HDD to an SSD is just a satisfying jump. I was lucky I had an extra 250gb SSD I never use anymore.

I did everything you did. After connections of the ribbons and powering up nothing happens. The light on the on/off sw. did not light. I put the HDD back and the same result. I am thinking the upper left ribbon is not working very good in the board connector. You did not show the bootup.

You might need to check the ribbon cable for a good connection.

dont forget to upgrade drivers. I used the HP assistance tool or whatever for the version of my laptop, when it asked to install assistant I said no. I didn't think it installed anything but in the taskmanager it was there, and it automatically updated my drivers and stuff.

Hi buddy, I have just squires a hp 15-db0xxx and in the memory menu it says it has a Samsung hard drive? Does this mean it's been changed?
@CadillacComputerCenter4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Most likely been updated to an ssd. However, it could be a samsung 2.5 inch hdd. Just go to c drive, right click it, go to properties, click hardware tab.

@@CadillacComputerCenter do they come with Samsung drives? The unit was manufactured in 2019 and under warranty until May 2021. Someone wiped the unit for me as I didn't have the password when given it, he said he needed to take the drive out to perform this action, however, I'm not a PC tech guy, what size memory should it have? 4gb ram it's saying in the spec menu, but I don't understand all the jargon to be honest my friend

maybe actually show ALL the screws that you took out.....so people don't screw up their computer trying to pry everything apart not knowing that ALL the screws HAVE to be removed from the back to make everything come out as easy as you did.

I mean. You have eyes and common sense. Plus he points them out. You can't really unscrew the wrong thing.
