This video shows you how to install a new TRQ blend door actuator on your 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The temperature blend door actuator is the electric motor that is responsible for physically opening and closing the blend doors in your vehicle's HVAC system. If the actuator isn't working, then you won't be able to control the temperature of the air coming out of the vents!
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Here is my real dream, remove the actuator and replace it with a cable and a lever to manually control the door.

I removed the blend door actuator from my truck and waiting to receive new one that I ordered. When I removed the actuator, the heat controls are turned to the right (hot) and the fan switch is off. Do I turn the heat control to the left (cold) before installing the new actuator or just leave it the way I took out the old actuator?

What symptoms would prompt someone to replace this part? I have a 2000 Sierra and I can hear the doors clicking behind the dash when I start the truck. If I turn the center dial towards heat, it stops.

Access to actuator is very difficult unless center floor console is removed, this is the view shown in your video. Pls give steps on how to do it.
