Didn't need to leave a comment, don't usually leave comments but felt that I had to in this case. THIS is how a "how to" video should be made. Explains everything even the small stuff because not everyone is an expert. Made a mistake, didn't edit it out, used it as a teaching tool. Great job all round. Thanks

I'm a 70 year old grandma replacing my kitchen sink for the first time. I recently finished painting my house, shed and all the porches and railings. Replaced the horizontal and base exterior trim that was rotten, was up on my roof painting the dormer. Installed a screen door. Removed a kitchen cabinet that was out over a peninsula bar counter to open the space more. Patched the opening with dry wall, painted, and cut the molding to fit. Plan to paint my oak kitchen cabinets soon by using grain filler first, sand til smooth and then paint. I have no fear of replacing my kitchen sink (and disconnect the RO system too), thanks to this video. Thank you!!

I am getting ready to replace a stainless steel 2 tub sink to a stainless steel 1 tub sink. Currently have a disposal but am getting rid of it as my pipes are not the best under the house and gets plugged if the disposal is not used correctly. Having kids has caused me to snake it 3 times. I am just going to get rid of it and all food will go in a container now and then thrown away. Plus I will have more room under my sink for storage. I absolutely loved the clear, direct and simple instructions given so that even a woman and her daughter can do this. Thank you so much! I have always enjoyed DIY and learning new things. I like to know I put the work into my own home!

I put in a new sink that uses those clips two days ago. Oddly enough, I installed the old sink with a roommate over 42 years ago, lol! I guess I got my nickel's worth out of the old sink. My install was miserable due to tight spaces that didn't allow my hands to install the new clips. Finally, I invented a tool made by drilling a hole in the end of a sawed-ff broom handle that allowed me to lift the new clips, slip them in the rails, and position them correctly. I hope I am dead before I have to do that again, six hours under a sink was awful. I also had to trim drain pipes, just like you showed. Great video, thanks for posting it!

When cutting plastic pipe with a saw you should always deburr the pipe inside and outside, otherwise solid stringy particles can get caught on inside burrs and build up restriction. This is especialy true for bathroom vanity drains, hair catches on the burrs.

Thanks for sharing. You explained the process very clearly. I m replacing our white cast iron sink with a used stainless sink I bought. The sink even came with a faucet. The stainless is in very good condition. But the sink has a bow and it came with only one rusted clip. None of the clips I bought would work. I finally found the exact clips on Amazon and currently waiting for them to arrive. So I’m hoping with plumbers paddy and tightening the clips down the sink will lay flush over the counter.

I am so happy I decided to consult you tube before I got any further than I have. My cold water pipe was leaking into my my kitchen causing the linoleum to buckle. The workers are replacing the floors. It's as good a time as any to replace the ugly 1980's sink and plastic faucet. I was going to get an el cheapo sink but now I'm going to rethink this and go with a better grade, making sure the sink is the same depth as the old one. I'm also going to let someone who knows what they are doing rather than having my 80+ yo husband attempt it.

Recently updated my kitchen sink for the first time, a lot of your advice was spot on and really helpful! However one snag I ran into was I thought a 22”x33” sink was a 22”x33” sink….i was wrong!!!! 😂 I spent a bit of time, sweat and many many profanities with a jigsaw cutting my counter top to make room for the new sink. My handyman work was….lets just say, less than professional looking, but fortunately the new sink covered it up…mostly…thanks again! Cheers!

It's actually not much different, just half the work of putting the drains together and a minor alteration going from a tee connection to a wye (mostly for your vent stack). Beyond that, he's already shown how to put in a disposal, so just take your pick on drain or disposal!

you can use a window cleaner like sprayway window cleaner on the silicone and it makes it really easy to clean off and spread

craigsclocks With the gauges on stainless steel sinks, lower numbers are thicker. 18 gauge, if I remember, is one of the thickest.
