How to replace Instrument Cluster Light Bulb on Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner

In this video we are going to show you how to remove the instrument cluster gauges and replace the light bulbs if you have one that is burnt.
It is not very complicated procedure and it will not take you more than 20 minutes.

The correct bulb is a 2721. The 74 and 73 bulbs are a little to fat.

On my 04 there are 2 different size lights. You should also take the back off and pull out the dam bell chime thing that stays on way to long. just rip it off.

How about the illumination bulbs with the green covering that provide general illumination for the gauges? What is the bulb number? 37? 74? Can the green plastic covering be pulled off the old bulb and placed on the new bulb? Thanks

Hi I have a 2005 mercury Marnier and your video was very helpful with being able to get the cluster out of the dashboard. So finally I got it out and changed out all the bulbs to blue leds and when I put the cluster back together the color remained the same as it was before which is that ugly green factory setting color. So I found out that the reason that happend is because the factory ppl who made my mercury Marnier painted the actual numbers in the gauges of the cluster so no madder what color bulb I put in it will remain green. I found a video to get that green off but I can not find how to take the faceplate off. I guess that's what it's called. I got as far as taking the needles off and took everything apart but still can not figure out how to take the actual faceplate off. I was told they come off then u turn them around and u can lightly scrub the green pa8nt right off and then it will be white so I can then use any color bulbs and it will work. I've seen lots of videos with people taking the actual gauge faceplates off the cluster but they never show the beginning where they actually take it off there already off when they start the video or i just can't find my car at all! Please help again i drive a 2005 mercury Marnier sorry this is so long but I really need help with this I've been trying to change to led lights for over a week now and still no success any advice is extremely appreciated!!! Please help!!!
