Thanks for the video....we had nothing happening when the button was pushed ( no noise or anything). But we fixed ours today....and it only cost about $30 for a replacement hatch button and a couple hours. The toughest part was getting the panel off...it takes a little force but we managed. Snapping it back in was a piece of cake. Thanks for the video!

Take the lift gate panel off and unplug the handle switch. If your close button works then the handle switch is bad.

This doesnt work if you dont have auto open/close. I think test for continuity while pressing switch?

If the button to close the door (the small square button on the door) isn't working either will this fix that as well or is that a different part?

+Amber Clark Because there could be multiple reasons for that, we suggest having it diagnosed to determine why it would not be working.

How do you get the liftgate open if the latch isn't releasing?

Try just pulling the fuse for it and putting it back (to temporarily open it.)

I had the same question. My Tahoe does not auto lift. I cannot open to get access to the switch.

If you redo this...show better how you got the switch off the button. That was the hardest part.
