Just did mine yesterday and only took off the plastic engine cover. Reached back there used an oil pressure sensor socket with an extension and universal. This is crazy taking all of this off to get to it. Took about 15 mins. That included getting my tools out. 2007 1500 w/6.0.

I am glad to see the whole process and to be able to actually see what's back there. So negative comments are not helpful and don't make you sound smarter. Thanks for the great video.

You don't necessarily have to remove the intake, yes it's easier, but I've done the same job in 15 minutes,

The amount of detail and camera work is incredible. Thanks. Did you forget the brake booster hose, though. I did. LOL

Great video. Especially appreciate the specific references to wrench/socket sizes and torque specifications. That alone probably saved me half an hour.

I didn’t wanna have to do all this work, but after losing some tools trying to do it the shortcut way this way was much safer and very thorough. I actually found a mouse nest inside so it was a plus in many way. Fixed the problem. Recommend you replace the filter while you have everything apart.

This is why dealerships charge so much. In reality you need an oil pressure sensor socket, a universal, a 6 inch extension, and a ratchet. Maybe have a pick to remove the old filter. I could’ve changed the sensor in the parts store parking lot had i known it was that easy.

Where is the filter that goes in before the sensor???!
@kennyturner844318 күн бұрын
I just want to add, for the comments saying you don't have to do all this to replace sensor. I can tell you that on my Sierra with a 6.2L, the manifold is not the same. It has a baffle that surrounds the sensor making it impossible to get to. Thanks for the video. Good job.

Awesome video. Very in-depth. Fixed my issue. Only suggestion. At the start of the video, state what you are going to need. Started the project. Found out I needed a fuel line removal tool. Left to get it. Kept watching just to find out I need a 1 1/16” socket. Went to the store again. Just to come back and fine out I needed a 1 1/16” DEEP socket. Would have been nice to know what I needed and make one trip before leaving.

Did you change the filter below oil pressure sensor? There is a filter in the oil passage that can clog up. We need to change that, too. It looks like you put in a new lower plate in video. It looked shiny after you got old sensor out.

This job can be done without taking the intake manifold off it's going to require patience. If you have the right socket the right extension a ratchet and a swivel it should be no problem. Also you got to remember to pull out the filter and install a new one. A 4 x 4 truck may be a little bit more difficult because of the height. I guarantee a dealership is not going to do this if they've done it a bunch of times without having to take the intake manifold off and still charge you full price.

If you don’t fish that filter out you will more than likely have the same issue if it’s clogged up! Didn’t see in the video about getting the filter out

There should be a small filter under the pressure aqitch that should be cleanednor swapped out

Kind of a pain but a couple swivels and lieing up on the engine. Wven with my big hands I was able to get to it without removing anything. Lot of cussing

didn't show or didn't replace filter below sensor

My goodness you don’t have to take the top of the engine apart to change the sensor! I changed mine in fifteen minutes that included drinking a silver bullitt!😂

Did you reuse the old plenum gasket type o rings? I never seen the pulled in the video.

That is just what I was looking for. Yes, there is an easier and faster way which I've done before. My problem is that a rat made its way to the wires of the sensor. No way I could have repaired the wires without removing the intake.

Compared to the other videos I've watched on this, you dont need to take all that apart to get to the part. Why would anyone want to take all that extra stuff off when it doesn't have to be this hard?
@heathhalfhill68676 ай бұрын
Overkill in a big way bud. Swivel extension #1-27mm deep well socket #2- 1 can of cold beer #3 and 10 minutes of keeping your cool #4 and avoid all of this. This can be done without removing all of this. Just requires some patience and the right tools.
@ODOGHOST7 ай бұрын
this is only necessary if you need to replace intake gaskets, otherwise pointless..

No wonder labor is expensive when you dismantle the whole engine to replace the oil sensor
@scottballard3377 Жыл бұрын
Hmmmmmmm? Good video, but. I seen when you pulled the intake it looked like a lot of debris in there, no explanation about it and then the next view everything was cleaned up and way shinier than before and no explanation as to if you need gaskets or not which I'm assuming you would do since they did what new but I didn't see what they looked like when you pulled it up and out either way good video I'm not being negative but you could give a lot more information and explanation and cut down on 15 minutes of putting bolts back in until you get to the torque specs at least Good job thanks

Just because a video is 27 long doesn’t mean it’s going to take 27 minutes to the job lol I started at 3pm and got done at 10.30 pm just makes sure i was doing everything right and i got that stupid problem fixed next up c02 sensor 😂😂😂
