Outstanding video! Pretty in depth as far as telling what's needed, where everything is located, I'm a mechanic too and nobody really tells you EVERYTHING. You do a good job of making sure there isn't any hidden dangers.👍🏻 Excellent.

Hey Tina, I just had to replace the assist, but for another car I had to do both, long as its new you should be fine, buying used is very very risky. These electric motors had a recall on them a long time ago, and it is in the system that they are still suppose to honor the recall on these motors, but the dealership and the manufacturer are refusing to honor the recall on these motors. I was told that the recall only applied to certain vehicle’s with this motor. I just don’t think that is fair to people like me that are stuck with a motor going out on their steering column, causing your vehicle to stall and not want to steer. If you have any suggestions, please inform me. Thank you.
@dominiqueb9256 Жыл бұрын
They said mines was changed already, so I ordered everything off of ebay after my assist start failing , (it's expensive) just for it to last 6 months, yep eventually went out again. It's a pain. But you will have to order brand new parts & install them, it's a pain in the behind.

After replacing the the assist motor how do you remove the little power steering message that pops up? I replaced the motor yesterday and it's working great but I still get that little warning message that pops up and I cant find anything anywhere that will tell me how to reset that message.
@dominiqueb92563 жыл бұрын
Hey, I'm not sure if removing the battery cable or code reset on the radio will work, but its worth a try. Unfortunately I have a after market radio so I don't have that message, it also can be that built in sensor on the steering column. Working with these powering steering issues have been a nightmare for me very frustrating

@@dominiqueb9256 thank you! I tried to reset it on the radio but that doesn't seem to make it go away. I did disconnect the battery which did take my check engine light away but still get the message on the radio so maybe it is a sensor. Thanks for your help!
