Well hello ignition media😍 , 9:45 again this is why I liked these trucks ; really easy to fix😎 . Since we talking about radiator today ; here is a little tip but very practical and it allows more (cool) air to get into the engine bay : there is a slight gap between the radiator and the radiator frame , that gap allows the hot air to get sucked back in by the radiator fan ; especially when you stop for example at the red light ; or in general when you stop , so to make sure that you only get fresh cool air gets in to the engine bay by the radiator cooling fan ; you gonna need to close the gap , I did that using that isolation rubber pipes that used in AC cooling units , and they did the job done perfectly👌 ; after I did this tip I immediately noticed a very good temperate level and it also worked perfectly with the AC radiator too ; the AC now is much colder especially when the vehicle is parked . Hear from you soon. Cheers✌

Evening Khangar - great tip, we are just about to come into the hot season, so we shall head to the diy store on the hunt for insulation pipe - thanks for telling us :) Enjoy the weekend J&N

@@DrivenMadShow don't forget to show us the process in a video , just put a little wipe of glow on the radiator frame and then apply the isolation pipes👌 , promise you will notice a very good temperate level & colder AC .

Excellent helpful video . Overall the K74 is a good vehicle but be very wary of buying a Mitsubishi L200 which has had a body lift in order to fit oversize tyres as this will put the radiator and radiator fan out of alignment. Due to the radiator being attached to the body and the radiator fan being attached to the engine which is attached to the chassis. In order to get the radiator fan blades to clear the radiator cowling after a body lift some people remove the bottom half of the radiator cowling but this prevents all the air from the radiator fan from flowing through the radiator causing head gasket failure or worse. Another potential danger of body lifts to fit oversize tyres is the use of wheel spacers . Poor quality wheel spacers can soon develop stress cracks with the potential danger of the wheels falling off as well as overloading the steering. Body lifts also create all sorts of other issues brake lines, linkages, gear levers etc. I would definitely not recommend a body lift. The L200 K74 can be prone to head gasket failure anyway without body lift modifications that make this far worse. When buying a second hand vehicle remove the radiator cap from the cold engine and look for air bubbles after the engine has had time to warm up. A specialist radiator funnel is best for this but even then there is no guarantee head gasket sealant has been used.

Great tips - appreciate them - in Portugal, the documents (that you have to have in the car at all times) even specify the tyre size, you can legalise different things, but they have to have certification and a CofC from the manufacturer, so not easy - our L200 had this tyre size on as a factory standard - we do have a fan issue, so yours is a great tip on where to start looking - cheers :)

I have the same truck like this. I was wondering if you tried replacing the OIL return/feed hose for the oil cooler. Thanks

No we haven’t done that. Maybe in the future we will need to. Hopefully not. Thanks for the comment. 👍

Have you considered eliminating the fan clutch (or however it's called in english; the system that connects/disconnects the fan to the shaft)? It does wonders for cooling while being pretty cheap and simple. EDIT: I live in Brazil where it's 45oC some days and own one of these. If you need some more tips regarding cooling, I've got an entire manual dedicated just to that!

Like the sound of this - have not fully grasped what you mean (sorry) so need you to tell us more please 🤞🏼 - feel free to write in Portuguese and I will translate it, if easier ( our fan viscous coupling is broken and we cannot find the right part here in Portugal ) so all info greatly appreciated

@@DrivenMadShow my last comment was deleted, probably because I gave you my phone number 🙃 do you have an email? I’ll send you some footage and show you! Around here, we remove our viscous coupling and replace it with a machined part that fixes the fan to the shaft so that it’s always rotating.

Is the replacement radiator made of full alloy or plastic top/alloy bottom?

Yes, the one in this video is plastic top and bottom, I have more recently installed a full aluminium rad. Check out the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKnCiZh4oNqHnMksi=FZZPsyTUeQhg7waL
