Your presentation is the only one I found that includes the important step of pumping the brake pedal until it becomes firm before exiting maintenance mode. MANY thanks.

Don't forget to crack open the brake fluid reservoir cap to make it easier to push in the pistons.👍I also found it easier to install the pads in the Caliper Bracket while it's out.

Should have watched your video first! Ha. I couldn't get my impact in there so I hand cranked those things out with my box wrench ratchet. I fought those clips!! it was so bad that on the other side of the car I waited to lube pads until they we seated in the clips. What a pain! Seeing this video though reminded me of how many times I was like what the heck Mazda haha. Nice work.

At 14:00 you see that clip on the top of the pad? On the Mazdas that clip gets pushed down with your thumb as you slide the pad into the bracket. So the clip winds up inside the bracket - it shouldn't be hanging outside the bracket. It will still work outside but it's designed to go inside. It seems to be the pad wear indicator. Just a friendly heads-up for next time. Ciao.

I agree, they are upside-down. The wear indicators are up, the are supposed to be down....lol

Amazing work. How exactly did you get it in service mode so the the caliper can retract?

Dude, I don’t understand why Mazda doesn’t use rust proofing on their calipers. My CX5 calipers look like they were at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean with the Titanic. It’s a problem cause these cars are known for having the calipers seize.

@@RBTheMechanic For real, my RR wheel was smoking today when I got home. I'm thinking of replacing the calipers with aftermarket anti-rust treated units.

The brake pad warning pins or wear indicators! You just left them out. Why did you not squeeze them in? They are supposed to face each other on the top bolt of the caliper. You squeeze them into the brake clip/hardware so that they eventually come in contact with the rotor. If the warning indicators are left out like that they will not work properly later! Don't file them, the problem is you are not squeezing the wear indicator into the clip. That is why you are having a hard time there. Squeeze them in.

I will look in to that

WOW - how you collected 122K Subs. I just replaced break pads 3 x in my life and I know to squeeze that metal audio indicator before slide break pads into callipers. Also for the pins you are not doing correctly. You supposed to remove pins with rubber bushes and put fresh grease for pins after wipe old one. Otherwise when you inserting freshly greased pins, that grease will be stopped on the rubber bushes or inside them and not go on pins inside breaks brackets. Plus for showing your audience how to do Break service mode for Mazda's with EPB system I hope you will not remove my comment like other not positives ones BTW - and that's why I start not to give my car to mechanics. They not paying attentions to details.
