Good video. The last time I changed brake pads I must've just used a C clamp to compress the brake cylinder but bought the square tool this time. It doesn't look like I damaged anything.

2012 model, why are mine different? I've got no retaining screw for the disc, not even a hole, and the caliper has two equal length slide pins, which are slightly different than each other AND the opposite way around on each side of the car, both side out fully leaving the gaiter attached to the carrier.

do Mazda 6's have brake shims? thanks
@MultiZach19898 жыл бұрын
I ask bc new brakes and rotors are squealing well past the initial install where they are vibrating bc they are new. either they forgot to install the shim or I need to buy an after market one.

how the pad of the brake pad is applied to the brake piston the pin must be aligned with the brake piston rod

C clamp is no use, use some long nose to screw the piston in, or get the special tool he has in the video, the piston is like a big screw and you need to turn right to compress it
@jcox27284 жыл бұрын
You only need the special tool on the rear , and not the front. I would make sure you remove the reservoir cap to account for the expansion

It's crazy as in europe rear brake pads uses metal clips like www.trafic.lt/img/products/3909/3909393.jpg But in USA they use something we use in front brake pads ???
