Thanks for this video. I just replaced the rear disc brakes and rotors on my 2011 Mitsubishi Galant. Was struggling with removing the drivers side rotor. Wasn't rusted on, but turned off the e-brake and used your trick with inserting a bolt into one of the two holes. Worked like a charm. (safety note - make sure your wheels are chocked!)

Mecanic sceptic, te ce ai schimbat și suportu de etrier nou, chear nu pricep, era urat ruginit, bravo, superb. Etrier ul dacă nu este blocat nu trebuie schimbat da în fine, spor la schimbat piese aiurea....

Was going to remove n replace caliper, no way to fit a socket onto the bolts tho, no room. Then after days of pb blaster the 1 bolt rounded n I had to stop. So now I'm going to replace caliper by removing brkt as assembly and I'm replacing abs sensor as well, it's bad. I'm have to replace rotors as well. 1 caliper bolt rounded on all 4 front n rear. I've bout lost mind. 38 yrs of this, mainly collision repair n painter by trade, love to paint, but anyways hopefully removing the brake hose n 2 caliper brkt bolts I'll remove as assembly and go form there. Great details in video. Idk why 1 bolt on each of the calipers rounded on me but my luck. Extractors didn't even work, but that would still leave 1 where there's no room. Very well done sir. 09 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. Customers cars no problem, my cars omg always sumthn.

Excellent and instructive. If I have any criticism is that where specific items are mentioned the camera work is not correctly aligned. Keep up the good work and employ a film director, Actually PPPPP. You know perfect planning etc.

How does one determine which caliper slide pin is which if they get mixed up? You mentioned a difference between them and that they aren't interchangeable; I'm assuming there must be some way to distinguish them and determine where each one goes... Thank you!

How close can you get to the minimum thickness on the rotor before you have to replace it? Great video.
@jimthecarguy
@jimthecarguy 4 жыл бұрын
With the rotors being so cheep most of the time it is better to replace than to resurface. Remember that the closer you get to the minimum thickness the easier they will warp. I hope this help

Great video, but just a shame the footage was so dark and hard to see due to the camera lens facing directly into bright light (backlight). TIP: use additional lighting to illuminate the object when shooting video. Nicely done.

I’m having an issue. One pin won’t pull out it’s completely stuck. And turns and turns and turns but never comes out : and I know it’s far enough to pull out . What can I do?
@crowfeather83
@crowfeather83 Жыл бұрын
I know this is likely way too late a reply but maybe it could help someone else. Use a chisel or beatable prybar and a hammer to remove the pin, beat on the inside of the head in the direction away from the hole.

@@CarnelBell Wow back @ U! What is the purpose of immediately going to the rude, insulting place? I would wager that it's not a particularly effective strategy. If, as I suspect, this sort of behavior is typical for you, you would almost certainly be shocked by how different-smoothly, agreeably & pleasant-your interactions with others would be if you treated them with even a little bit of respect, courtesy, civility, tolerance and understanding. However, I realize that it's likely that you enjoy and thrive on conflict. He's just being honest-I see NOTHING wrong with that! I wish more video authors were more genuine and honest… And how much did you pay him to make and post this video? Right… NOTHING! That pretty much means he has NO obligation nor responsibility to provide any information, even as the author. He already made & posted this excellent & thorough video; ever consider being grateful for that? What about being thankful for his honesty? And by the way, use whatever bolt fits! There is a limited set of sizes used throughout this car; one of those will fit. Just like izzy bizzy says…
