Lots and lots of talk of putting it into service mode from dealership. I have a manual pull e brake. Not and electronic one. I had a shop do my brakes and 2 times passenger rear failed same shop. Seems e brake is a massive part of changkng the brakes on these. Is the dealership lying or does it only apply to electronic ebrake? Witb manual e brake is there any extra steps? The rear pad is failing wears on corner til running bare. Going to change them myself. Seems shops been lying even to somewhat seasoned mechanics. Thanks for the tutorial

Bro, you are doing the rear brake passenger side right? how do you loosen the caliper pin and the bolts do you go counter clockwise ( back of the car) or clockwise (front car direction)?
@tisoynathanapachannel7149
@tisoynathanapachannel7149 8 ай бұрын
While you are facing the caliper and rotor turn it clockwise to loosen up the bolts.You need to imagine that you are at the front of the caliper even though that the bolts located at the back. Hey man I just did my front and rear brakes, resurfaced instead of new rotors. 33,4k miles, new pads (wagners..) road tested afterwards, now I'm getting a hard grind when coming to a complete stop while driving. Any thoughts? Thinking of resurfacing rears again..

I used Wagner brake pads before but I never had similar problem like what you experienced. Just give sometimes to adjust your Wagner brake pads to newly resurfaced rotors. If you will experience the problem after 100 miles. I highly recommend you get a brand new rotors. Next time get brake pads from autozone because it comes with lifetime free replacement. Anyway thanks for visiting my channel. If you not subscribe yet, Kindly subscribe and like my channel. May god bless you buddy...

Did you replace the hardware parts of your brake? Did you replace the rotors? Did you lubricate the back plate of your pads and brake pads housing? What type of pads did you use?
@manny_fit

@@tisoynathanapachannel7149 I cut the rotors and used duralast pads I lube the back of the pads. The hardware on the calipers I used brake cleaner and cleaned them with wire brush. The rear ebrakes work fine no lights. The piston didn't look the same I was able to push the piston in it was just a flat piston like a normal piston

replace the rear brake pad clips (upper and lower) with new parts on affected vehicles, and to apply grease between the brake pad. I got my clips at autozone. So far since I replaced it I do not have any issue. I hope it helps you to resolve your brake noise. If you are not subscribe to my channel. Kindly subscribe and like my video. May god bless you

@@tisoynathanapachannel7149 ok thank you! I'll try that they still function fine thank goodness so I'm gonna see if they kinda break in after 100miles or so and if not I'll get new rotors and hardware and pads thank you!!

i was a Mitsubishi tech the problem with the rear end noise after a brake job is the clips either people mix up the notched clip or cheap aftermarket pad clips that cause the noise due to not having a notch or just being cheap. there is a TSB stating on these the notched one has to be at the bottom and grease has to be evenly applied to the ears of the pad part number for clips ( 4605b885 ) if your car is covered under basic warranty you can have it done for free at the dealership just say i have a brake noise in the rear after doing brakes 5/60 or 5/100k(CANADA)

I don’t get it… My rear pads don’t look nothing like those… I have the 2018 LE 2.4 with the auto parking brake. Maybe the ones in this video are for v6???

The one on this video doesn't have electronic parking brake, pads are different. There are other videos on YT about how to release the EPB and they also mention the different shapes of the brake pads with and without EPB.

Unless he added more after the fact, he showed how to do it. You can either use the cube tool or a brake caliper kit. They usually have adapters for most rear calipers.
@ColinCarFan
@ColinCarFan Жыл бұрын
He is using the correct tool but it should have a large metal plate that fits in the recessed ring, then the plate slots behind the caliper so that when the tool handle is turned it rotates the caliper piston and pushes it in. He is trying to push it by hand while turning and that will not work. I suspect he either found the plate or used a set of large grips and squeezed!
