How To Replace Rear Shock And Top Shock Mount On A 2010 MAZDA 3

Today i will show you how to change or replace the rear shock absorber and mount that often breaks or snaps on the rear of the Mazda3's and Ford Escapes. This problem happens often on these cars as they get older especially if they are rusty and can cost upwards of several hundred dollars if you have a shop do it! So i will show you how to do it all by yourself! it took me about 20 minutes each side!

I changed mine I got a whole new assembly and mounts but the car still felling bumpy on bad rodes any idea why??

An important question, my mechanic told me that these shock absorbers do not last more than 15 days. It made me feel bad and I wanted to know if they last and if they are good shock absorbers since I bought them.

So far so good. havent had any issues. if they fail ill put out an update here and then ill buy OEM. I would avoid TRQ CV Axles

I replaced mine but I broke one of the top bolts. Is it an easy fix

you will have to drill it out and go through the trunk of the car and pull off all the interior trim to access it and either weld a new one on or just put a bolt through it maybe with some JB weld

I've replaces 3 of these on a 2007 mazda 3. 72k miles and last week at 93 k miles. F88king mazda/ford. I bought a spare one this time. Almost spent the $ 35 that dorman cast steel one would cost delivered off ebay

ive thought about going the steel option lol but since i moved to florida theres no more rust or potholes. i just cleaned the area up well and used some rust reformer paint on the body panels. so i think it will last a good amount of time
