With and 06 civic (not sure about newer models )To be safer with the speaker connector you can open the truck of the car find where the speaker sticks out and disconnect the speaker form there

How do u replace the subwoofer. The speaker in the back, middle ?

You have to remove the back seat bottom (it has a bolt in the middle holding it), lean the seats forward, and remove the side seat cushions to remove the entire rear dash cover.
