Very comprehensive repair process. Best I’ve seen on KZbin.

Great video very informative thank you. Only thing I would do differently is use a penetrating oil like PB blaster to help loosen up those rusted bolts. Live in the north east so our vehicles get pretty rusted around here but never had any luck with WD-40, PB blaster is incredible stuff and works within minutes. always for when all else fails lol

@@HomeGrownPyro1 yah I’ve definitely started using a proper penetrating oil since making this video. Project Farm made a comparison video and made me more aware that I’ve been using the wrong product. Certainly has helped with lots of rusty bolts over the years!

@@wolflogan6556 that’s awesome! My car was getting clunky going over bumps. These cars are incredibly reliable, and now I know my struts should be good for another 300k! Well now you know where to come when it’s time for new struts haha Thanks for watching :)

@CarRepairsMadeSimple I have my CL-S6, a 03 TL-S, a 07 TL-S, and a 2024 Integra A spec tech but I still believe that my older gens will out last the new integras any day of the week

@@wolflogan6556 yah Ive heard various issues and declining quality in some Honda/Acura models. Oil burning, oil dilution, blown head gaskets, and I haven’t heard many good things about the inclusion of turbos in almost every engine. Hopefully this doesn’t apply to your new car!

@CarRepairsMadeSimple I'm working on becoming a master tech at my local acura dealership currently and I've been doing plenty of rod bearing, fuel pumps, and fakra connector recalls it's wild

Thanks for this DIY video. I just replaced the struts on my 2001 TL with 350K miles and I wish I would have seen your video before doing so. I reused the center lock nuts, but I didn't use heat to remove them. Do you think I need to replace them? If so, can I replace them on the mounted struts without disassembly? Also, one of the new front struts did not push back out after pushing the rod into the strut. I installed it anyway to see if there was any difference in performance from the left side to the right side and I didn't see any. Watching your video explaining how struts are stored and how they will correct themselves after installation has really put my mind at ease. Thanks for that detail!!!

I wouldn’t recommend trying to replace the center lock nuts with the strut still on the car. If you didn’t use heat, then the nylon should still be in the nut and can retain some of its locking properties. You should be fine :) thanks for watching!
