Looks like an impact and a Jack should get the job done. Do you recommend replacing both sides even if the passenger side is the source of the issue?

No torque wrench on the axle nut to get it to 135lb ? This is why I do my own car repairs ...actually I rebooted my axles and kept oem orig parts including toyota boots. Much more work for me. And I used a much better cv grease. An exhaust pipe is just under the inner CV joint which caused cv to get a bit hot. I decided to heat wrap that exhaust section on my rx330.

I've been in the field for 25 years and I know the threshold on a lot of bolts and not everything has to be torqued if you have a strong gun trial and error has taught me that..

Great video! I wish the car year was in the title although it's mentioned at the beginning of the video because I skipped over it at first because YT shows a lot of related videos when I do a search

Hello sir On my 2010 when I go to tighten the driver side axle it becomes loose between transmission and a gap is left there. Does this mean the axle is to long and it needs the smaller one . Supposedly on auto zone website theres 2 options a short one and a long one .

Worst video I have ever seen on replacing an axle!

It’s very clear you don’t own that car. The way you hammered it. Such bad mechanic!
@TheCRTmanАй бұрын
Bro, hammering is literally part of the job! Are you a mechanic?
@SentienthermostatАй бұрын
Hammering it is the only way to get it out unless you wanna replace the entire steering knuckle and wheel bearing too.

The one and only thing I would recommend to viewers of this job is there's a seal that's in the transmission it's just a $5 seal. The passenger side transmission output seal to be exact. Coming from experience had to take this shaft back out just to change out a $5 seal the transmission started leaking transmission fluid like nobody's business. Learn from my mistake.

Another suggestion is that he should use a torque wrench instead of an impact wrench to tighten axle nuts. Under or over tightening axle nuts will cause premature bearing wear, but he refuses to use a torque wrench because: 1) he's lazy and 2) he's deliberately trying to make the bearings wear out prematurely so that the customer will be forced to come back for more repairs.
