Thanks for this video! I wanted to see if the rotten wood on my window could be repaired or if I’d need to replace the window. It seems it can easily be replaced which is a relief. I don’t have the tools( or skill ) so who should I get to do this? A joiner or window fitter? I don’t want to get the wrong tradesman out.

Great videos. I have a ceiling light install question. I replaced my ceiling fan &light with a flush mount ceiling light. When I removed the fan, I was left with black, white, ground, and red wires in the box. I connected black to black, white to white, and ground to ground, and capped the red. On the wall switch, the 3 speed fan switch now runs the light (light intensity changes with switch position) and the wall on/off switch does not do anything. So my question is do you see anything wrong with running the light through the 3 speed fan switch? If this is not suggested, I could either replace the 3 speed switch or try to connect to the wall on/off switch. Does it sound like if I wanted to use my current wall switch that I should connect the light black lead to the red lead in the box? Thanks !!

Hey Amy it sounds like they had the black to the fan and the red to the light. I would cap the black and wire the red. It sounds like it’ll take care of your issue. You got this. !! 😃

Have you not just treated the symptom and not the cause? Surely there is a reason why that wood rotted. It also looked like the framing may have had some mold. Don't get me wrong, I like the technique and thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm just asking so that if it happens here, I don't have to do it again in a couple of years. Thanks, Dustin.

Hey meat. ! With this one it looks to me like they did not keep a good coat of paint on it. It allowed water in attracting termites. The termites ate out the inside and some of the outside. When you get the wood replaced and sealed up you should be good to go. Don’t forget that coat of exterior paint 😃

I need to repair an area under my bay window where the deck meets the house. The siding is warped and opening up. Also wood trim on the window is rotting. Do you have a vid for that? I'm scheduling to have gutters installed which has caused the damage.
