why are manufacturers making commonly replaced parts so damn hard to get to? have to take off 14 things to get to the alternator? jesus christ

So we can't do it ourselves and have to take it to the shop. A lot of people will probably take it to a Ford dealership, and Ford Co. probably gets a percentage of that. Just my guess.

That's one reason, other reason may be that cars are optimized for easy assembly on production line and saving production cost, and they dont really care about repairing process.

Is this supposed to be for the RS or ST? Because the guy in the video started talking about an intercooler, and they probably didn't put one of those on Mom's SE, what with it not having a turbocharger, lol. Anyone got a link to a video for changing the alternator on a regular (normally aspirated 2.0l) 2014 Ford Focus?

I just replaced the alternator in my 07 Colorado and was feeling confident I could do this...until I watched this video and saw how it was done. This is ridiculous.
