How to Replace the Ball Joints on an OBS Ford F150, F250, or F350 2WD Truck: 1992 - 1997 F-Series

This time at the Quick Speed Shop I'm going to show you how to remove the spindle knuckles and replace the ball joint in an OBS Ford truck. The truck I'm working on is a 1995 F250, but this should apply to all Ford F-Series OBS trucks 1992-1997 including F150, F250, and F350.

Only thing I'd say for a lot of situations is liberally apply WD-40 when your breaking stuff loose. Or pb blaster for severe cases. It makes your life waaaaaaaaaaay easier. I know from experience. Even an overnight soak is often times required for heavily seized components. If all else fails heat and alot of it can help break free stuck fasteners and ball joints in knuckles. I got a used ball joint tool from a co worker because it was missing some pieces. Hopefully I have enough of them to make it work 😂 we worked at Toyota so nothing this size or suspension style came through our shop. Now I own a 7.3l 97 f250hd ccsb 2wd. This was great thank you man. Very informative on what I will need to handle this at home.

It's pretty much the same process. Obviously, there is more involved on 4WD as you need to disassemble the hubs to remove the knuckles to do the ball joints.

The procedure he showed is the same on all the obs trucks except the d60 with kingpins (I think was only offered on f-350 4x4) but the actual ball joints are different parts though.

Should be similar for ball joint front 4x4 axles. You'll have to take the hubs apart to get the knuckles off the axle stubs.
