I really needed to see which hole you connected "this" to. You hooked it in off camera & my dls3500 has a spring that also has to go in. At least you showed the throttle. I tried to take pics of mine before removing, but it was hard to see. The rest of video was good. But those cables were the most important piece to me!

I replaced my carburetor today after watching your video. I never would have attempted it, but your video explained every step. After installing, I set the throttle and air/fuel mixture settings in similar positions as the old carburetor and had to make some minor adjustments. It sounds right and works like new again. I wanted to say thank you for the video, I picked up a used LT 1000 last month and mowed a few times and today it started to die out when I was mowing, it would run with choke on but would die out in normal throttle or high throttle. I suspect dirty jets or float bowl issue. Thank you again for helping out its appreciated!

I think those PITA newer nozzles were put in place by the EPA. Just learned from my son in law that the portable fuel tanks used in car racing have the old type of nozzles. Great video, I plan to order a new carburetor for my lawn tractor and give it a try. Thanks!

Great video! That’s a anti-backfire solenoid on the bottom of carb. Intake manifold removal makes it easier, just like you did it..

I just picked up an LT1000 from a friend, and you made the process of changing the carb look easy. My mower surges when at full throttle and I've adjusted it, so I'm just gonna replace the whole carb. Already replaced the fuel filter and lines, but your fuel tank looks different then mine.

My mower is a bit older, but on mine, the plastic piece on the right of the carb, where it turns up, is not held in by anything. Just tug down on it and it will pop out. There is an O ring seal, but it pops out with no damage to the O ring. That gives you a lot more room to see what is going on and to get the control rods off of the horns on the carb.

Great video. I bought a used craftsman LT 1000, havent used it yet, carb problems. decided that it would be easier and cheaper to just replace the carb. I took the carb off my riding lawnmower, and i noticed that there was some kind of orange goop or gel or whatever between the engine block, and the black plastic tube that goes to the carb, which i guess is some kind of sealer? anyway, i did not see you put that on yours?

It was probably some form of high temp gasket compound from a previous repair. The new carb should come with a gasket.

Because, why not? The kit came with new hoses. Also, fuel line hoses do get old and begin to deteriorate with time.

I think as a standard of safety procedure some would recommend this. It is absolutely necessary? No. There is no connection between carburetor and the electrical system of the mower.

My tractor spins but the battery is dead before it fully turns over. Could this be the carb? The battery is new, worked like a charm last year before storage. Changed spark plug, new fuel, cleaned everything but doesn’t want to turn over. Any help would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, lawn tractor batteries are garbage now. Unless you keep it on a maintainer over the winter, the battery will probably not make it. I would take the battery in to have it tested.

@@Wrathchildss If you are jumping it and it is not starting, it is not the battery. Let me ask you this. Does it try to start, but get stuck before it can turn over? If it is doing that, this means your valves need to be adjusted.
