Its all very nice but you haven't changed the old brakepads with new one's. That's where the problems appear. As the new brake pads will be thicker and then you will need a special tool to push the piston of the brake calliper inside, that it can fit onto the thicker pads.

Great video, going to attempt my mark 4 polo front disks and pads swap. Are all steps here appropriate for that car too? Just wondered what the blue paste for the calliper screws retightening is for, and is it necessary. Great vid! Thanks

It will probably be slightly different on the vw polo. The blue paste stops the bolts from coming loose over time. I would advise using it for extra safety. Here's a video of the process on a VW polo mk4: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4uYoIWmqq6IY8k

Before retracting e piston, I should open brake fluid cap right?

Yes, and keep checking the fluid level as you retract the piston and make sure it doesn't overflow from the reservoir

Hey sorry if this is a amities question but not long been driving and need to change my brake pads I don’t have that tool you have to push the piston in can it just be pushed in with like a piece of wood pushed against it or something thankyou and sorry if it’s a stupid question just need to know

Yes you can use 2 pieces of wood like this on the front brake pads: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2fMpKJvorucbsk If you're changing rear brake pads the piston has to be rotated as you push it in, so this method won't work
