How to Replace the Front Brake Pads & Rotor on a 2013 Mazda 5

Tool Necessary:
-Hood prop.
-Rubber mallet.
-Ball peen hammer.
-3/8in. Ratchet.
-7mm Allen wrench socket.
-17mm. Wrench.
-9mm. Wrench.
-Two different sizes of flat tip screwdrivers.
-Air gun.
-Phoenix Brake Flusher.
-Brake clean.
-Anti-seize.
-Ceramic grease.
-Suction ball.
-Water bottle with hole on cap.
-Caliper compressor.
Parts Necessary:
-Front brake pads (brand: Duralast Gold).
-Front rotors (brand: Duralast Gold).
-Dot 3 brake fluid (brand: Autozone).

Great HOW TO, exactly what I needed, Easy for a "YoutTube mechanic" like me to follow. Clear and precise. Even setting out the tools and socket sizes needed! 808 representing, CHEEHOO Question: as far as jacking up the front end, any extra tips for lifting front that are different from rear? (I usually do parking brake & chocks on 3 other wheels)

I wouldn’t say necessary but I would highly recommend doing it every so often. Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air and if there’s too much moisture it’ll rot your brake system from the inside out. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

When should I replace the rotors? Can't I just replace the pads if the rotors are only 60k miles old and thick enough? Or its worth it to replace the rotors?

I usually prefer to change the rotors when I change the pads. If you’re sure it’s thick and level enough then it’s okay to leave them but I would suggest changing it. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

What you need to worn people bout is if their rotors come to em not coated. They spray that brake cleaner on em & it will rust the shit out of their rotors.
