Just replaced the APIM 3 in 2018 Ford Fusion following your I struxtions and they were perfect! Thank you very much. The hardest part is getting the black fsce cover shroud off the 3 brackets at the top near the hazard light button and dual vents. That took awhile to get it out without breaking the cheap plastic. I have a 2016 ford fusion that none of the buttons work on my touchscreen and radio doesn't work. I have heard that ypu can unplug the touchscreen and that should fix it. If not does the dealership reprogram the touchscreen if I get the same model touchscreen for free or do they charge?

When I bought my 2013 Fusion the radio worked, but not the CD player. Then, on the way to the used car dealership (it was still under warranty) the CD player started working. I never used the radio after that until recently, but now the radio only produces static, like the antenna is not attached. I am not crazy about disassembling the " console " if it needs a part until I am sure what it needs. What might be the problem

You can check to see if the antenna plug into the audio control module which is the cd player. Or the cd player took a crap again or you have somthing interfering with the radio

I have a 2016 Ford Fusion and the screen is cracked. The dealership wants to charge me 1,100$ for a new one. They said the majority of the cost will be a mounting a kit. So I’m not able to just buy a new screen? I have to get the mounting kit as well?

Yes you do need a new connector that have the additional wires for it. I believe they make a kit to upgrade from 4 inch to 8 inch but I think that over 3k dollars

32 inch touch screen? Like the tesla? Its possible but dont know what's all involved. I've heard people upgrade from the 4 inch to the 8 inch in that cause you need new wiring adapter the sync module apim a gps and usb port

I have a 16 ford fusion my apim is fried. Cant connect SD/Bluetooth, radio only. They were gonna charge me $800 to replace it! I can do this myself. If you need to reprogram it, do you need to bring it to the dealership with the radio in the car? Or can i bring the apim down by itself to reprogram the vin #? Thanks in advance.

What kind of aftermarket radio you trying to add? Not forsure how that works. I've only added from 4 inch to the 8inch sync 2 or sync 3 system.

Nick the car guy a double din pioneer or kentwood radio should fit in the open space where the ford 8’ screen would be. i want want the face plate to keep a/c controls and add my own stereo into the opening

I'm not for sure on how that would work you would have to go to a radio shop and ask them about it. I've seen it done on a mustang with 8 inch but I don't know what's all involved

I recently picked up a sync 2 8” radio from a junkyard with the bezel… I noticed it needs a extra harness that would plug into the back of the screen… do you know it that harness is something I could purchase without buying the whole kit? Very expensive for the kit it’s ridiculous

I have a 2014 Ford Fusion...the radio won’t change stations and there’s no sound anymore for radio, cd and media...first started with loud static and no sound...fine for a month...then more static and not sound at all... how much is the radio?

It all depends on where you get it i get mine on ebay I would pull your old one out and mach the part number with the new one

I paid $200 for mine and installed myself I was also having radio issues but once I fixed the screen , I was able to adjust the balance of the speakers so sound could come out of all 4

Paul Davis for the rear subwoofer white wire is for the positive and blue and green for the negative this is for the left subwoofer

Joe Gotti for sync 3 you have to replace the apim. I upgraded mine to nav on it sync 2 there way to do it without replacing anything

You will need a new screen the sync 3 screen is different from the sync 3 screen. I would find a vehicle just like your with the sync 3 system and copy its asbuilt data onto your new sync 3 system

@@RC-rg3vz oh if your replacing just the screen you don't need to do programming you just have to remove the trim panel and the climate control panel then there 4 bolts that hold the radio screen and module then once you remove the 4 screw you can remove that whole assembly then on the back there should be 3 or 4 Phillips head screw that you remove to get the apim module off from the screen then your transfer the apim onto the new screen bolt it on then ready to go
