Replacing the rear shocks in a 2017 Ram 1500 with upgraded Bilstein 4600 series shocks. I used a special set of replacement nuts from Thuren Suspension to complete this job.

Thanks for the tips / video! I just got a 2014 Ram 1500 SLT and plan on doing 4-corner suspension on it soon. The Thuren nut/wrench set is priceless, I will have that in my toolbox. I put Bilstein 4600s all the way around on my old Silverado 2500HD, great shocks, softened even the "3/4 ton ride". Hint: they're about $10 cheaper on rockauto...

Really awesome video. Nice to know they make a special tool and new nut set that you can install. I was apprehensive about changing mine due to that top nut being difficult to access. When I go to change mine, that's what I'm buying.

Thanks for the video. Just ordered the nut set. I was trying to figure out how the hell you were supposed to get in there to get that nut off. BTW Rockauto has those rear shocks for $73.99 were as they are $84.00 on amazon. Rockauto is my go to for car parts. They also ship lightning fast. Thanks again!!!!

Yea - it is a pain to get at it. Some guys will cut a wrench or use a crow's foot. I thought the nut set was easier.

Thanks! The Bilsteins have been great, I have no complaints. I have a set of Bilsteins to put in the front, but I have yet to do it. I've only put maybe 12k miles on the truck since this video, I don't drive it much. I did not put the front ones on at the time as you need to remove a mount from the OEM front struts to install on the Bilsteins.

How are these shocks performing I have the same truck 2017. I'm looking to keep factory ride comfort and float over those bumps when it was new . Have 30k miles on mine also I do not have a lift or level it's bone stock

No unfortunately. Lot of methods to get to it, buy the tool, crowsfoot wrench, cut a wrench etc.
