Excellent video for replacing spark plugs for the X-type. Thank you! The spark plug gap is very important and is 1.32~1.42mm for X-type's V6 engine.

On a 2002 Jag X-type 2.5L, there is a retaining bolt in the back, between and below the two electrical harness bolts. It is not shown in the video, but, it needs to be removed to remove the manifold.

Can someone tell me what this "air pocket" thing under the intake manifold is for that you can see at 2:25?

That should be an insulator for reducing the noise from the injectors, as far as I know. It was eliminated later from 2003 MY X-type.

I 'd like just to add that one should be careful when measuring the gap between the spark plug electrodes. The central electrode is made out of a soft metal and can be easily damaged.

I can't actually remember the last time I bought a new spark plug that needed the electrode gap adjusting!
