Crazy isnt it! Its not just Jaguar they are all like this now. Its is purposely done this way so the average owner will look at it and believe they can't do it themself and have to take it back to the dealer. They went out of their way to make something so simply as a tune up hard. Thanks for the comment!

Great video, thanks. I bought a 2000 Vandenplas. It sat for a couple years before I bought it. Seemed to run fine on way home. I washed the engine, then it ran very poorly. Thought whatever got wet would dry in time. Weeks later , still not running good. I guess Ill start with changing plugs. Wow, what a surprise to have to do so much work to get the 3. Any other suggestions, Im open! Thanks again.

If you hose an engine down water will get in the cavity where the spark plug goes. There is no way for the water to get out. It shorts the plug wire out. I had a durango that if you parked down hill and it rained hard rain water would get into the spark plug cavity shorting it out. That was easy to fix. pull coil pack and blow out. Compressed air with a long air nozzle gun try to blow it out...

kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpmckqyupJyao8k They call them control arms. You can't just replace the ball joint. Its not as hard as spark plugs. You will save yourself a ton of money doing it yourself. Thanks for the comment it really helps the channel!

Excellent video - I missed that last bolt at the back of the manifold and wasn't sure how the vacuum hoses were removed - now I know! Managed to drop my ratchet spanner down the back of the engine and had to jack the car up to allow me to crawl underneath to retrieve it - you did say that tools would be lost!

@@outdoorswithcam Totally agree ref making life easier - I think the people that design don't actually "do". I hadn't realised that I had pulled the wires out of one of the rear plugs. Couldn't get a new plug on its own (Ford (its a Ford part) wanted me to buy a loom) so I managed to take the plug apart and repair it. And guess what I did - I made the cable 6" longer so that I could pull the manifold forward to view the plug to remove it next time - surely Jaguar could have done that to begin with. Aren't those plugs easy to get off once you know how?? I also agree that that bracket at the rear makes no sense - I really can't see what it does. Anyway, car is now repaired and thanks once again - I'll check out your other videos as well.

@@craigkelly4480Its easy if you know what you are doing. Or worked on same cars every day. I learned when I bought coil pack and plugs to order Ford parts NOT Jaguar parts. They want $150 for wipeblades. I measure go to walmart find one right leaghten. Pull the rubber out and slide onto Jag blades. Works great. Alot of parts same as ford tarus. Thanks for the Comment!
