Thanks Matt, I know this is a year later, but you helped me too. Just had to change the module in my 75D due to a massive groove in the bonnet edge. The part is now £155 after VAT in the UK - impressively low considering you get the motor and all that casting/pressing assembly. Can you imagine how much Audi or BMW would charge for this? Those makes might not require replacement after 5 years and 50k miles, but heh. A faff to get from Tesla, had to book a service appt and then spend several messages to talk them into just supplying the part. Then a 100 min drive to Milton Keynes to collect, to find the sat nav took me to a disused Tesla service centre. If you go to Milton Keynes people, ignore the Northfield Rd address, tumble weed and rubbish sacks will greet you. Go to the Merton Rd address, there the lights are on and the car park is full. Is it too much for Tesla to remove old addresses from the car's system? When I got there the parts guy said they don't usually sell parts to customers directly. Yeah right... Anyway, easy to fit. My car is dual motor, so I didn't have the luxury of standing in the frunk, but on the other hand it didn't have that frustrating bolt under the stabiliser that yours had. Mine had 3 easy 10mm bolts on the front edge. Like you said, a 30 min job that I dragged out to an hour due to gawping at my car's innards and several interested neighbours coming over for a chat!

Many thanks - this is the best video on KZbin for this job. I've just done my 85D. A bit easier access on mine, so I didn't need to remove the cross brace 👍

It might be easier to get the 10mm bottle bolt under the crossmember tube by removing the microwave frunk piece. Thanks for the video. My wipers make a creak noise and I think there was a service bulletin to tighten the bolts. They look fairly easy to get to.

Just checked my two Sses and the 2015 (180K km) is already hitting the bonnet. My late 2017 (112k) is about a centimeter between the bonnet and the wiper arm. Thanks for your tip! 😃👍🏻

Thanks Matt; very helpful. I will check for those nicks in the bonnet, and if they are there then I hope it is covered under warranty. Still, it's useful to know they can be replaced by someone with good hands 👍😄

Very helpful, thank you. My 77,000 mile S75 does not (yet) have this problem but to give me an early warning, I have applied some thick tape on the underside of the bonnet edge. Regarding your useful wiper arm tool, could you have changed the rotary knob for a shorter hex bolt of the same thread diameter?

Good thinking. Quite possibly. Still, using it as a lever worked fine too. Its a very useful tool.

4:02 Have you done something with the frunk (froot) liner? Yours has more space at the rear than mine. Thanks for an excellent video!

The earlier models do have a much larger frunk area, due to being rear wheel drive, so no front motor.

Did you contact Tesla through the app to get this part? I have the same problem, it's already chipped my bonnet though 😖

Yes, just order through the app for collection at your local service centre. I had mine delivered by courier, but I think they've stopped doing that now, unless you're an approved Tesla repairer.

Yes, but they don't treat businesses any different to a customer. It was all done via the app as a Tesla owner.

Left hand drive unit # 6005946-00-G MS WIPER MODULE ASY is like around 500 -700 € online, what deal was that, 130 uk pounds? Also there is now a finish company making bushings to replace, compared to 130 tempting but compared to 500-700 a steal.

I purchased the part from Tesla. I suspect the prices you are seeing are inflated prices from people trying to make a killing online and not Tesla. Tesla are pretty reasonable with their parts prices.
