I have never ridden any of the RR models but I rode a beta 300 Xtrainer and a beta 390rr-s. Really nice bikes for sure.

I’ve been lucky enough to have a lot of bikes in my time. Got a 22 Beta 200 and some maintenance can be annoying due to bolt placements but it’s been my favorite bike ever to ride by far.

Great video! Never had an opportunity to wrench on a beta before so this video was very interesting. I hope to get one in my shop soon!

Awesome video I love it !!! Hopefully I will be getting my RX300 BETA on Saturday ! Being a long time KTM rider ( I have 4 of them ) I'm pretty excited about it . Hopefully I won't be saying " Beta get a KTM ) LOL Awesome information that will be rewatched ) glad your back on videos- happy Thanksgiving 😀

Those security bolts are absolute BS and shame on Beta for using them, those things are a complete PITA. I always scrub the engine with a long scrub brush with soap after I remove the tank, so the frame and the entire area is super clean before I open her up. I noticed you didn't check the deck hight? ... Nice vid.
@KincadePavich Жыл бұрын
You are correct that I didn't check squish. I didn't have the tool Beta suggests. I visually inspect the piston at TDC for clearance, and then match the base gasket. Never had any issues doing it this way, but maybe that'll bit me one day.
@onthethrottle7104 Жыл бұрын
@@KincadePavich No, I would say with your amazing abilities and eye for how things work and go together, you are just fine! You have some of the best work I've seen in years. Thanks for the vid and for writing me back, and I look forward to seeing more of your great work.

Hey I have a 2022 300rx and about to do my first top end. Did you order a specific kit online or did you order parts separately?

I take it the clutch cover bolts are all the same? Good video!

Great video,can you tell in advance if it is a piston or b?I have been told that is e Whritin on the cylinder head but I didnt find it
@KincadePavich Жыл бұрын
Yes it was an A piston and A cylinder. It was stamped on the cylinder; I believe inside of the left powervalve cover if I remember correctly.

Got a few in the works - Levi's RM125 video should be next. Doing a build on my KTM 200. Refresh on my KTM 350. KLX 100 pit bike. Hopefully a 600cc snow bike. Lots in the works!

How many hours did the bike have on it? My bad if i missed you saying it in the video.
@KincadePavich Жыл бұрын
It had 240 hours on it and that was the first top end!
@gripsanity Жыл бұрын
@@KincadePavich That’s incredible! I would highlight that in the description so beta owners know when thinking about doing a top end! I have a 2019 Beta 300RR with 25hr I was thinking I would need to do it at 80-100hrs. Haha
@KincadePavich Жыл бұрын
It is incredible - I actually didn't know. I had to text CJ after you left this comment. I probably wouldn't recommend pushing it to 240 hours, but this one managed to survive that long! Added to the description.@@gripsanity
@gripsanity Жыл бұрын
@@KincadePavich Gotcha, yeah probably a little long but I’ve also had an old time dude who was a beta dealer tell me 200 hrs. Most just tell you to do it around 80-100 as the standard answer unless the bike is seeing high level competition.
@KincadePavich Жыл бұрын
The impressive part is CJ is a high level A rider who does not go easy on the bike. So I'm not sure if every bike would last 240, but CJ is certainly putting it to the test. So yeah, you may be safe to go 200. I always consider it cheap insurance though; top ends are easy. Personally, I probably wouldn't go past 150 if it were mine.@@gripsanity

Didn’t know these had anti tamper bolts on them. Seems pretty stupid to me honestly. Not sure if that’s an industry standard thing now or what but for people that do their own wrenching it’s a minor annoyance. That bike is sick though

I believe the terms are interchangeable. I can’t find anything anywhere online that says otherwise. If you have any insight on that, let me know!

To be honest I would put some 2 stroke oil on the piston before installation, but overall great video.
