I watched this video because i had to change the same exact line on a 2007 Cadillac Escalade AWD.This Yukon is rear wheel drive and its much easier to replace.On the Escalade it was very hard to remove the lines with all the extra parts for the AWD system in the way.Running the new line back in was so frustrating I almost quit.I was using ramps and jack stands to do this.It's my wifes car and she needed it in the morning to go to work,so I just kept on trying to get the damn line trough.I was doing this at night on my driveway.Finally after what seemed for ever(about an hour)I got it trough.This video helped me a lot,but just a WARNING to anybody trying to do this on an AWD vehicle,it's much harder.Thanks for the video.

Incredibly helpful video. Showing the details of the lines from front to back was HUGE. I just added the auxiliary transmission cooler to my 2010 Suburban (did not come stock). This video showed exactly where the lines run, so it took the guesswork out of the job for me. It took some time, but it's installed and works great. Thank you so much!

If you have a front differential, drop the right side nuts and lower control arm to shock bolts. This will get you just enough slack to get the longer cooler pipe up through the hole in bumper.

On the AWD Denali, I would suggest removing the front bumper completely, its not that hard and makes things much easier. As the drive line and front axle make it harder.

Just a heads up. There are two hose types from the Trans to cooler. Denali tow package (heavy duty version?) and denali regular. I have the tow haul mode, hitch, trailer connector, so I figured I had the tow model. Wrong! LoL Maybe the tow model has an integrated brake control and tow mirrors? Anyway thanks for the video.

Thanks for the how-to. Mine are also shot so I'll need to replace them. But I'm not going to take my time getting the old ones out, just cut them in 2-3 spots to make it easier. Getting the new ones in on an AWD Denali sounds like it's a PITA.

Funky Tape what do you mean by cutting them lines in 2-3 spots to save time? How do i do that? Mines are shot too and started to leak little heavier lately but i dont wanna go thru the whole proccess of replacing them.

@@dabossfraga9493 The hose material GM used for the flex parts of the line is garbage. I replaced it with 30R9 fuel injection hose and worm drive stainless hose clamps, and it is bone dry. In fact, I am replacing the lines due to rust now - and I will cut the new hoses off and clamp my 30R9 ones to the new lines.

@@dabossfraga9493 Glad to help! I carefully cut the crimp sleeves and took the new hoses off the line assembly and it was a breeze to install. Then I clamped my existing hoses to the new lines, and made sure all of the clips were secure. Very easy job. The lines have little barbs to help the hose grip, and with a small worm drive stainless clamp it is leak-free & tidy.

Great Vid! Im also interested in the cooler and the lines. I have a 2007 Escalade Esv and i checked on Amazon link in your bio and the lines also fit my truck. Question: Do you know the part number for the cooler itself? I will purchase the lines off Amazon but want to make sure i have the right cooler itself. Thank you and ill keep watching.

Does this cause the vehicle not to drive asking because someone has one for sell and says it needs to be towed . I know I shouldn't buy a car that needs towed but if that is just the problem it would be a good deal but man I don't want to get ripped off its a 2008 Denali

What was the problem so you decided to change this cooler line, I have my 2500hd sierra and the transmission temp is always increasing from the engine start. Once it reach 100deg C the engine check light on and the transmission temp still increasing until 138deg C. When I check with the OBD scan it shows U0101 code which is TCM connection lost. I am assuming that the cooler is not functioning in my car. how to check that I need to change the cooler line or I need to change the solenoid inside the transmission before i do some unnecessary step. thx

I'm surprised by that transmission had two coolers, by radiator and cooler fins. Why two? I believe radiator is sufficient to cool the fluid
@Confidential_Champ
@Confidential_Champ 7 жыл бұрын
Josh Benney if you buy the Yukon Denali with the 6.0 it's part of the tow package.
@alwcurlz
@alwcurlz 6 жыл бұрын
The purpose is to maintain the correct transmission fluid temperature. In super hot climates and towing, the radiator cooler isn't enough to cool the transmission. So the added cooler is required. But the transmission fluid can get too cold If it passed only through a cooler out front and back to the transmission. The fluid could gets too cold during winter, causing the transmission to not function properly. By running fluid through the radiator, the fluid will always be at least the operating temperature of the engine which is perfectly fine for the transmission.
