This video shows you how to install a valve cover gasket on your 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla. Valve covers will begin to leak oil when the seals eventually break down. A new valve cover gasket will make sure the oil stays inside the engine where it belongs!

Great video…well done. One tip from a veteran jet mechanic. Torque specs are from the center of the torque wrench handle and not the end. You’ll get a more accurate torque to spec by gripping the wrench like you grip a screwdriver. Never from the end of the torque wrench. 👍

Great video tutorial. Covers every point really well. my corolla had some suttle differences in regards to clips but this was 99% accurate for my model. Only thing of caution is be very careful with an old gasket as they are brittle. I recommend this video to any d.i.yer.

Superb video. Of course, the linked 1AAuto is selling the gasket at $15 higher than MSRP for a FACTORY Toyota gasket, TWICE the street price of a FACTORY Toyota gasket, and 4X the price of an aftermarket gasket. Kinda, sorta, discredits the whole, "√ Save Money" schtick in the pinned comment, doesn't it?

Make a template from cardboard or foam and stick the bolts in place as you remove them. Then there's no making a mistake with which bolt goes where. I prefer foam if I have it.

What a terrible design for this engine cover! One of the nuts is attached to a stud that doubles as one of the valve cover bolts. So as I removed that nut for the engine cover, it removed the bolt below it. There's no telling how many times that's been done by me and others.
