@1aauto If you know you are replacing the regulator and motor assembly and the window is stuck all the way down on the regulator. You can take wire snips and cut the old cables from the regulator to the motor. this will free up the window on the old regulator track and you can slide it up to align the bolt holes for removal. It makes removing the old regulator motor assembly easier too.

Kyle W you are right, same thing for an old 95 and 97 my son has. From 94 to 97 pretty much the same.

If the motor's worn, it could cause the windows to go up and down slowly. If the weatherstrip around the window is old and dried out, it could also cause the windows to roll up slowly. You could try to spray some silicone spray on the weatherstrip around the windows, to see if that helps to speed them up. You can find it at your local auto parts store.

Very helpful; however, when a motor goes is seems to always almost die when the window is down. This means that the bolts attached to the window regulator are not lined up with the holes in the door panel and the window is locked in place. You cannot line up the two bolts with the holes. My son's 94 Honda window motor died. I pulled the door panel off, watched your video and was getting ready to take the motor/regulator assembly out when all of a sudden I wondered if maybe the safety lock switch was on. Sure enough the windows were on lock. Somehow when he was driving he rested his arm on the door arm rest and turned the switch to off. Therefore, the first thing to test is that switch. if you are unable to get the window to go up but can access the bolts to the motor, you can pull the motor off the regulator and then slide the glass up and away so you can get to the regulator bolts.

The issue could be both. If the regulator is getting bound up at points, you may have to replace it. If the issue is just the motor turning then you could just replace the motor. Without actually diving into the door, there is no way for certain for someone to tell you.

The easiest thing to do then might be to cut each arm and get the window out of the way. you might be able to reach the bolts holding the motor in place to get it unbolts and then get the regulator out of the vehicle. Excellent! Thanks for taking the time to make a DIY video without actually having to replace the motor yourself. One suggestion: I would emphasize that one needs to hold the window before removing those two bolts. You couldn't see in the video that you were holding the window. You mentioned it, but it is so quick someone might miss it. Suggestion: Beginning at the 5:20 mark in the video, insert some text such as, "Make sure you hold the window with your free hand BEFORE removing this 2nd bolt!"

I agree with this comment. At a pick a part yard I went to pull the window regulator from a junked 97 Accord and was not holding the window when I took out the first of the two bolts. The 2nd bolt was loose (before I had touched it) and the entire window rotated and jammed and bent the window guide tracks, making moving the window afterward almost impossible.

The regulator and motor often get confused, but there are some rather distinct differences to help keep them straight. A window regulator helps 'regulate' or control the direction of the window glass, whereas the window motor serves to propel it in the direction the regulator holds it. -google
