Great Video! I’m in the US with a 2015 VW Touareg and I think this will apply. Since they stopped selling the Touareg the dealerships are trying to wash their hands of service to these models and finding a good VW/Audi mechanic is difficult. I saved this video as I am about to do my own replacement of the rear coil overs and the fronts will be next. VW quoted me $5500 USD for just the rear coilovers stating the parts were $4500, I found OEM shocks and springs for $750 and will buy a few special tools for $300 and do it myself. Thanks for the tutorial!

lol…….VW dealers never even returned my call!!! Same price point. Ended up ordering Bilstein B6 kit as OEM was back ordered. I have seen other videos where there is less removal (skip CV joint). We will see……good luck with your project👍

This is a great video. On my '08 Q7 I'm noticing some front-end suspension noise and most likely it will be this assembly. My hat is off to you for all the process and effort you put into explaining the potential problems. Definitely worth the subscription to your channel.

Outstanding video. Thank you. You saved me big bucks, and I did it safely. Mine's a 2012 VW Touareg V6 Sport w/ 150K miles. Everything exactly the same as this Audi Q7 except the way the upper portion of the strut connects to the frame. I ordered that discount ball joint separator kit you recommended, and it worked perfectly.

Hi quick question I have recently done this repair on my touareg which is the same setup, but I now seem to be getting a knocking noise could the top strut mount cause this noise if worn.....?
@akoenig7798Ай бұрын
Cant say for sure, but a German car mechanic told me if you do not replace the top rear strut mounts and mount plate that has the bearing surface you can have knock sounds almost immediately if the rubber bushings and or the mount plate bearing is worn out. Allows slack in the moving parts, hence the knocking.

Fantastic video and great help!!👍 but I’m a little confused! In your front strut link it says (Non air suspension) . Am I correct in thinking this stays in one level like normal cars without any air involved. Because I would prefer that over the complicated air related stuff? Thank again

Hey mate - good video. Honestly feel that I can do this myself after watching this. Question for you. How good are these unity struts? Will I enjoy them for 100k km? We have 230k on our Q7 and it is definitely time to do them... worried that they won't last 100k more or they'll be shady in 20k?
