Just replaced my #4 injector pigtail on my 2020 LTZ Z71.... 51k miles. Glad I had already read that MOST of the time it's the injector pigtail and not the actual injector. They say injectors on these L5P's rarely have problems under 200k miles. Truck runs like new again 😎

I lost injector #4 on 2019 L5P with 68,000 on the clock. They replaced injector and wiring harness. Have owned and babied the truck since new. Hopefully it was a one off…

Does the aftermarket have better pigtails instead of the cheap ones from gm?

I just had a 2018 duramax checked out by our local Andrew's diesel shop, I asked the about the L5P pigtail connector problem and they said when on comes in they replace it with a LML pigtail connector to help the repair last. Have you ever heard about doing this?

Interesting, lml used bosch injection system, l5p uses denso injection parts, hard to believe the connector would be interchangeable...

How do you feel about using the heat shrink enclosed solder wire connectors instead of the crimp connectors for this application?

the wires for the connector do they have positive and negative ? or you can just connect them and it does not matter?

I've got the p02CC code, but it runs smooth. No vibration at all. Just hit 190,000, could it be. A bad pigtail even though it runs smooth?.

Is a crimped product the best fix for this? Is that what GM would do under warranty? I’m asking, as I really don’t know??? To me, seems like vibrations long term and a crimped solution aren’t a match made in heaven. Heat shrink and soldering, to me, would hold up much better long term…. Thoughts?

Actually, soldering, in an automotive application, isn't advised. A soldered connection can crack and cause all sorts of issues. If you look at an automotive wiring harness, the pins on the connectors are all crimped. Just food for thought. :)

Denny it looks like hptuners released tcm tuning for the 20+ 10 speeds. Have you heard of this or tested it yet?

Hp only supports 10 speed gas it’s not the 10 speed diesel no support for that yet
