Yeah; that looks alot better, blends in much better!

You actually don't have to remove the wheel well liner to get to the front lights. You can just reach your arm down under the hood to pop it out. I installed these same ones on my 21 Silverado.

The turn signal lights? Wish I would have known that when I was doing the install. Lol although I’m not sure I’m long enough to reach them from the top of the engine compartment 😂
@ordinary_arkansan3 жыл бұрын
@@SouthpawGarage haha yeah! I had to get a step stool to reach mine.

I just popped my hood and sure enough that would definitely have been an easier way to switch the turn signal light. 😂 thanks for the tip! I’ll have to keep that in mind if the bulb ever goes out.

Thx for the vid! I noticed your front blinkers doesn’t blink faster after you changed to the LED bulbs. Mines started blinking faster. I saw a few others that ran into the same situation, blinkers blinking faster. You don’t have that issue? Can you replace the fog light bulb itself? I like what you got with the black housing (I was going to black it out with the blackout tape but this is way better lol). but I wanted to replace with yellow fog lights. Only because I need the yellow for driving in fog, snow, and dust. And the stock ones aren’t as good for those settings.

I'm glad you liked the video! For my blinkers, in my opinion they appear to blink faster because the LEDs don't have to gradually light up the way the stock halogen bulbs do, but that may not have anything to do with the faster blinking you are seeing. I'm not sure how much faster your blinker is blinking, but I know that LED bulbs "appear" to blink faster by design. As for any type of rapid blinking or hyper flashing, I have not run into that issue. The only time that sometimes happens is if I'm sitting at a location waiting to turn with my blinker on, the interior blinker will start blinking faster as if the bulb had gone out or something. I just turn the blinker off, wait about 30 seconds, turn it back on, and everything is normal again. Again, not sure if that is what you are referring to or not, but that is something I have experienced after switching to LED blinker bulbs. For the fog lights, I have not studied them enough to see if you can change out the bulbs themselves. I just wanted to black out the housing so I haven't looked to see if the bulbs can be replaced separately. If you need yellow fog lights, Diode Dynamics has a kit for Silverados that you can order with yellow lighting. They don't have that completely blacked out look, but they don't appear to be as shiny as factory. Here is a direct link: www.diodedynamics.com/ss3-led-fog-light-kit-for-2019-2021-chevrolet-silverado-1500.html

Factory Fender flairs ? I was thinking of adding some to my truck just curious of the ones you have . Thanks .

The fender flares seen in this video are made by Air Design USA. You can purchase them directly from Air Design USA or from the Chevrolet Accessories site. I've recently changed my fender flares to Rough Country's bolt-on look (updated fender flare video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3XEf6aEedxgirs)

Question.....do the LEDs come out of the housing if you need to replace the LEDs?
@SouthpawGarage3 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe so. I don’t see a way to disassemble the fog lights in order to replace the bulbs.
@GamerDave852 жыл бұрын
For the fog lights do they still run off the factory switch? Or do you have to wire them?
@SouthpawGarage2 жыл бұрын
Wiring and switch remain factory. You unplug the factory wiring harness from the factory fog lights, remove the factory fog lights, install the new fog lights, then plug the factory wiring harness into the new fog lights.

Are they the same brightness to OE and how are they holding up
@SouthpawGarage Жыл бұрын
They definitely aren’t any dimmer than OE. These are plenty bright enough. So far no issues with them. The lenses appear to be sealed well to the housing so I haven’t seen any moisture inside of them and they are still working perfectly.

I think both links are for smoked lens; one from Amazon and one from eBay.
@SouthpawGarage3 жыл бұрын
You would be correct. It looks like the seller I bought mine from changed their listing. Thank you for pointing that out. I will look and see if I can find a new link for the clear lenses. If not, I will remove the eBay link and just leave the Amazon smoked lens link.
@SouthpawGarage3 жыл бұрын
Update: The eBay listing title does say "smoked", but the images look like clear lenses and the product description does say that the lenses are clear. Down at the bottom, it does say "Clear Lens+Smoke Socket" so it looks like the seller considers the black bulb socket piece to be "smoked". I added an Amazon link for the fog lights that are Black w/ Clear Lenses. The listing title also says "smoked", but the product description specifies clear lenses. I figure when it comes to purchasing, an Amazon link is probably more reliable than and eBay link (as far as a product remaining listed for an extended period of time).

Get rid of Chrome! Heresy! Never too much chrome!
@SouthpawGarage Жыл бұрын
I get it. Some people really like chrome. For me personally, the vehicle itself determines if chrome should be on it. My truck, from the factory, was already mostly color matched since it’s an RST so I went full with the color matched theme and took off every bit of chrome left. I feel like it’s a good look for this truck. My 1970 Nova, on the other hand, has a lot of chrome on it. 😎

Is there a way to get the light out of the stock fog lights mine look like they are built in to the plastic and want to replace them with green lights .
@SouthpawGarage Жыл бұрын
I believe you would have to find a way to separate the lense from the housing to get to the bulb, but I'm not 100% sure the bulbs themselves are designed to be replaceable. I tried looking online, but have not found any information for doing just a bulb replacement. It may be best to see if you can find aftermarket housings that have the bulb color you are looking for.

@SouthpawGarage ya kinda what I figured .. I have been looking to and not having any luck . Mite just have to order green lens tint and have to be happy with that .
