excellent video! What is that tool you're using to screw the sparkplugs in? Yes, I have virtually ZERO car knowledge.
@WrenchingRyan2 жыл бұрын
That is 5/8 spark plug socket with locking extension. Thanks for watching.

@@WrenchingRyan I mean, what electric ratchet is that?
@WrenchingRyan2 жыл бұрын

pretty easy set up on this vehicle - but no mention of dielectric grease OR checking your gap before inserting plugs.. for a newbie I would recommend a more thorough video selection.
@WrenchingRyan19 күн бұрын
I appreciate the feedback. You are right about the dielectric grease and gap. I'll make sure I add it to my videos in the future.

What would you recommend if I do not have torque wrench
@WrenchingRyan Жыл бұрын
I strongly recommend to torque them to spec. You can get cheap torque wrench from harbor freight.

Thanks for video! Could u please clarify whether replaced ones (old) were factory installed? or once they were replaced ?
@WrenchingRyan2 жыл бұрын

What’s the torque specs

Is it recommended to add grease to the spark plugs?
@WrenchingRyan2 жыл бұрын
Not at all, but sometimes when you purchase aftermarket spark plugs they included a anti seize lubricate, you’re welcome to apply some, as long as you torque those within spec. You’ll be fine. Thanks for watching.

(3) mistakes (in my opinion): He didn't gap the new plugs, which is .044" (1.1 mm), three, I wouldn't use a power wrench taking out the old plugs (the plugs are steel and the head is aluminum). Don't want to screw up the start threads in the block, and it's a good idea to use anti-seize on the plugs & hold-down bolts, so next time, they come out easy.

Great opinion, noted. Thanks

Plugs are pre-gap you don't touch them. Its not a must to put antiseize... there is none from the factory. Its torque at around 15lbs lol, you can do it with one hand
@colehara4 ай бұрын
I agree. Sure the plugs are pre-gapped but that can change if they're knocked around in shipping. I always double check. I wouldn't use a power wrench either. And the antisieze is always a good idea especially with dissimilar metals such as steel and aluminum.

I would have replaced the rubber boots at the end of the coil. It’s good insurance

@SuperBlindEagle10 ай бұрын
@carlawschanneletc double check the connection and everything is properly secured. I drove for a couple of miles today and the check engine light randomly went away.
