Hi Lance,Returned to NZ 2022 after 13 years in Sydney. My Fergy 265 had been sitting for that length of time. With your video help a couple of years ago I was able to reseal the injector pump and get the tractor going again. However last week I went to start it after it was going the day before and it wouldn't start. I found fuel wasn't being pumped up to the injectors. I pulled the pump out and checked everything you sugest in these 3 videos. I didn't go beyond the camtrack, but fuel is still not pumping to the injectors. Fuel is pumping back through the return line. I did notice the inside part of the end plate has some small grooves scratched into it Would appreciate any suggestions as to what might be the problem. Because of your videos I am quite confident in diving deeper into the pump. Many thanks.

If the metering valve wasn't stuck, the little shuttle under the inlet would be worth a look. Worst case there is a bit of water in the fuel and the rollers are sticking. Most times the metering valve is sticking.

Great work as usual Lance, very well done video. Helping people like myself out all over the world. Not sure if you'll know, but my pump is quite similar, except it has a solenoid on the bottom that holds the cam ring in. The shaft between the head and rotor had broken, so i took it out and have a replacement. The only thing i cant work out is where the little 1/4" by 1/4" spring came from that dropped out when i took out the head. Would you have any idea? Anyway, thanks for all the help, you really are a great bloke 👍

I think the spring you are referring to might be under the little shuttle valve in the end cap.

​@BundyBearsShed thanks for getting back to me Lance. Turns out it was the spring the that sits behind the rivet in the plate in the top governor housing. Must have fallen down into the body when I was taking it apart. Have it back on now but unfortunately still no diesel after replacing what was a broken head and rotor shaft. You make it look so easy, if only you were a neighbour!

I think my roller pistons are sticking on mine. Backhoe with the same style pump on a ford diesel. I pulled the top cover off and the metering valve was stuck so I freed it up. Still not getting any squirts of diesel out of the injector ports on the pump. I guess the pistons in the end under the rollers are stuck. I wonder if I could shoot air into the ports to try and free them up. If I need to pull the pump apart to free them up how do I re time the plate on the end that you explained meters the fuel? Do I just mark it first or should I get the measurements for the rollers?

Yes getting a roller meassurement is fine or scribe a line at the end of the bracket so you know where it was. Sticking plungers is a good probability.

@@BundyBearsShed Thanks. Yea I don't see what else it would be. I am not getting even a tiny squirt of diesel out of the outlet ports for the injectors. I am going to try and blow some air backwards through the injector line outlets and see if I can free the piston. I will let you know if it works. I have plenty of fuel getting to the pump, when I take the bleed screw out the side it squirts a good foot out when I crank it.

Well blowing air into it did not work. I will have to order a reseal kit and tear it apart I guess.

Hey Lance! I watch every video you put out, I like doing this stuff too! I'm currently working on a New Holland TL90A 4 cylinder that I bought very cheap. It had been sitting up for probably 10 years or so. It has a Bosch VE4 distribution pump. Do you have anything special that you do for a pump that has been sitting up for so long?

No not really if it bleeds up ok I go with it.

Hi Lance I'm stuck, what locks the basket into the shaft? Mine spins and the governor doesn't work. It runs flat out and can only be controlled by the stop lever. Thanks

There is an o ring on the shaft that holds it all in place.

It could be a blocked tap, lift pump, filters or the little filter iin the inleet of the pump. They can all effect the flow ratr.

No you are not correct here, we have had many pumps going strong for many years. we are really only resealing the pumps not changing settings or anything else really.
